Dragons.

Meet my dragon. He's a pro-gay dragon. Which means that if you're a homophobe, he'll eat you.

Yeah, just goes to show how jobless I am over this long weekend.

Nah, I kid. Was pretty productive today.

Finished off Chem worksheet 4 (had a bit of help from MJ for the calculation bits, but other than that I can safely say I followed instructions and completed the questions by myself).

Took a look at Physics to try to continue where I left off last Saturday, but gave up and drew aforementioned dragon instead (and realised that the muscle build between a dragon's body and a feline's is quite similar, actually. But we'll never really know for sure).

Personally, I think it'd be seriously cool if dragons really existed. I mean, if they didn't go around killing or eating people or kidnapping princesses like they do in stories then yeah, having dragons around would be awesome.

But then again, us being the problematic, troublesome humans we are, we'd probably mess up the relationship between humans and dragons and boomz we'd all get obliterated.

Or it could be like, "Hey dude, equal rights for all or my dragon eats you," which would be one of the greatest things to happen ever.

Nah, it would suck if we started abusing the pure awesomeness of dragons, so change of mind there.

Dragons, you can remain as myths, please.

Okay, enough about dragons for now.

Better go off to do something more useful.

Adieu.

P.S. Syaf recommends I get watercolours. I think so too.

Straight but not narrow.

Making plans for tomorrow, but they're not really working out.

Seriously feel like going out alone and getting a beanie like Nazihah's (I absolutely adore Zeh's beanie; it looks awesome).

But I dunno, who knows, I don't.

Anyway, went out today with a bunch of the Bruneians (Emily, Wardah, Syaf, Fatinn, Nazihah, Yee Rou, Wan Shen, Insan, Nicholas and Faiz).

Had lunch, then watched 'Street Dance' at Marina Square. Thought it was quite good, 'cause I like dance ('cause I find it seriously cool). So, so much badassery.

Oh, and there was George Sampson and Diversity too, so yeah, pretty badass.

So, um, let's talk about something more significant in the world other than me going out to watch a movie.

I think same-sex marriage should be legal. Yeah, there you go, I'm out with it.

Honestly, I don't understand what's so wrong about it.
So two people of the same gender love each other and want to make the same lifetime commitments as straight couples because getting married is a huge leap forward into a relationship.
If you really loved someone, you would want to be with them until the end of your days, you want them to know that, and you'd want assurance that they feel the same way about you. What better way to do so than to get married? Like, really, why should we want to stop them? What good reason is there to prevent two people in love from getting married?

'Quoting from the Massachusetts case that paved the way for Judge Walker's ruling, he said: "Civil marriage is at once a deeply personal commitment to another human being and a highly public celebration of the ideals of mutuality, companionship, intimacy, fidelity, and family. Marriage fulfills yearnings for security, safe haven, and connection that express our common humanity. Civil marriage is an esteemed institution and the decision whether and whom to marry is among life's momentous acts of self-definition."'

-Excerpt from this CCN article, dated August 5th.

So, yeah. Bring forth any argument you'd like, because I'm standing my ground on this one.

Inception.

Watching a bunch of music videos on YouTube right now, 'cause as I've probably mentioned before, I really like to watch guys sing (it's a strange thing I do, please don't mind me).

Is it possible to fall in love with a band all over again? 'Cause I think I just did.

Saw this video right here (MCR's 'I'm Not Okay') and I realised that heck, I've missed being completely crazy over MCR.

Hey, I was thirteen once (man, you really do start to define yourself when you're thirteen. Trust me, I've been there).

When I was thirteen, I realised something: I wanted life to take me places. I just kinda wanted to not stay by the sidelines all my life. I wanted to do something with my time here, you know. Something worth being remembered for, something people would look up to me for. Or that I would be able to make a living doing something I enjoyed (personally, I dislike office jobs very, very much). Or both.

Yeah, when you dream, you gotta dream big. Naïve, younger self didn't know that it's not easy to have life simply bring you where you want to go. It kinda blows when you realise you're not just good enough at anything to accomplish what you want to accomplish in life, but somewhere down there, deep inside of me, there's a teeny fragment of myself that still hopes hard, that one day, I'll make the impact I want to make on the world.

Anyway, speaking of dreaming, we (Woan Chyi, Syaf, Kelvin, Wee Thean and I) went out to watch 'Inception' at Vivo after our National Day celebration (was on duty, and ran out of battery halfway through so I've got this ten minute gap in my footage).

And man, it was good. It's so good, I'll say it again: 'Inception' is so good.

Honestly speaking, it was probably one of the awesomest movies I've seen this year. It's not one of those movies where you can just sit back and watch, but it's one of those that flow with an amazing pace and have you hooked right from the beginning till the end.

I loved 'Inception' because it makes you think. It makes you think and it makes you question, and it's all so well performed and directed you kinda step out of the movie all dazed and then don't stop thinking about it for hours or so later on.

Mum, if you're reading this, go watch it with dad, it's brilliant. Totally worth two and a half hours. And don't bring your son.

All right, gotta go now.

Night.

P.S. Long weekend. Whee.

Equilibrium.

Okay, mystery of the week has been solved.

Been wondering where my Chem notes on alcohols, esters and carboxylic acids went, 'cause it somehow mysteriously disappeared over the weekend and I couldn't find it for Chem yesterday.

I mean, I'm such a *cough* responsible *cough* person, there's no way I'd have lost my notes just like that. And so I searched everywhere, and asked our study time group if they'd taken it ('cause most of the time if anything goes missing it's 'cause one of us took it by mistake), but it wasn't anywhere to be seen. So very perplexing.

Then Kian Wee texted me on MSN just now and problem solved, he's got my notes.

Oh God, people need to stop mistaking my notes for their own.

Anyway, today went down pretty nicely, 'cause we spent two hours in the lab balancing rulers on retort stands with weights for our Physics prac, had no Malay, spent ACE playing some random quiz thing on the history of Singapore, two hours in an air-conditioned room for Bio (I love Bio), and an hour and a half listening to some mathematical talk on logic and infinity.

I like Physics, but my mind can't seem to be able to stand all the numbers. I think Mr Yeo was pretty bored, with nothing to do but watch us fail at tying weights to rulers and then trying to find equilibrium.

Spent non-existent Malay in the canteen finishing up the prac and eating cheese fries. Insan bought some, then I bought some, then Woan Chyi bought some, then Faiz bought some, and then Insan and I decided to share some more, and then Yos bought some. So yeah, epic cheese fries spam.

Bio was fun, 'cause I like Bio, and that we kept making really lame jokes about Math (actually we do that most of the time, but then we started talking about sine graphs and whatnot).

The talk was weird. Maybe if I was more Math savvy I'd have found it more interesting and not so "yeah-I-know-we-can't-count-infinity-please-stop-talking". Hmm. Who knows.

But I liked the dude giving the talk 'cause he sounded so awfully excited and enthusiastic about sharing with us, so no, I wouldn't call it a complete waste of time.

Going to go off now. Have a Chem quiz to read for.

Adieu.

P.S. Yeah, I'll be braiding my hair to school tomorrow. Please don't die of shock or surprise or laughter. Thank you.

Love.

I'm sad.

I'm disappointed.

I'm incredibly unhappy.

I am most distressed.

I'm angry, even.

But there is no way I'm going to ignore this.

And here's why I'm so upset: "International Burn A Quran Day".

Apparently this Christian group in Florida have decided to commemorate 9/11 by burning copies of the Quran. Like, dude, how is that going to help with anything? What were they thinking?

I don't understand. Would it make them feel better about themselves? Would it make them look good? Would it settle all the world's problems? Would it clear up everything humanity has botched up over the past millennia?

This is so uncool.

This is totally going to send wrong messages and misconceptions firing across the globe (via the internet, of course). People are going to feel disgusted at Christians just because a certain few of them decided to come up with this unfathomably horrid idea, and all this ignorance concerning other religions is just really bad for health.

Maybe people are channeling all their anger and hatred wrongly. I don't know. It's ridiculous.

Whatever happened to "love thy neighbour as thyself"?

Well, this blows.

Signing off with this rough sketch of a swan (just in case you can't tell what it is).

Adieu.

P.S. I read that the aforementioned group is also extremely anti-homosexual. Kejahilan benar.

Curisoity.

Took me ages to log into Blogger 'cause of the horribly atrocious internet connection we've got here (has anyone realised that I haven't complained about the internet connection in a long, long, time? Well yeah, it's about time I did).

I'm going to go straight to the point with this post: Volleyball hurts. Bad.

Why on earth do I find myself finding hitting balls over a net in the netball court addictive? It's like there's something wrong with me. And thanks to my stupidly masochistic tendencies, my arms are all bruised because I really can't play volleyball right. Either that, or I bruise ridiculously easily. I don't know.

Honestly, how do people enjoy it?

One more week to go and I'll be free of volleyball (till whenever we do volleyball again, that is, and I hope it's not soon).

Did that DISC survey thing during mentoring. Mr Yeo surprisingly knew what to do (we all saw him sleeping during the briefing; we think it's 'cause he stayed up all night playing Starcraft II).

So yeah, went down to the free access lab, sat around, talked, answered 24 questions, had computer problems, sprayed a whole lot of deo, made a lot of noise, got our lives evaluated and that was it.

Nothing much.

Although I have to admit, I'm quite looking forward to the results when we get 'em back, you know, just out of curiosity (or should I say, "curisoity"?).

Okay, I best be off now.

Adieu.

P.S. Lisa Simpson got married? No wonder she's been trending on Twitter all day. Apparently an episode aired in 1995 showed an invitation to Lisa's wedding, dated 1st August 2010, which was yesterday. Now that's seriously cool.

P.P.S. Twitter, keeps me in touch with the outside world. Sad.

Budapest 2010

I can't stop smiling to myself like an idiot because I'm listening to this, Colbie Caillat's version of 'The Little Mermaid''s 'Kiss The Girl'. (Syaf was like, "Oh my God you're high," and yes I think I am.) If only she sang it with a certain Jamaican accent.

Fatinn asked when I sent her the link, "Since when did you listen to female vocalists?"

Well, I do, sometimes, but only very rarely.

But I digress. I miss my childhood. Classic animated Disney movies make me feel happy. Like this: :)

Feeling really jazzy right now, 'cause I somehow happened to have 'The Princess and the Frog' in my iTunes for some strange reason (I have absolutely no idea how on earth it got there), so I rewatched it. Mmm, great movie.

Movies don't need to be in 3D to be awesome. Why don't people understand that? Personally, I don't like watching movies in 3D 'cause I can't really see any difference, and that it costs a significantly larger amount than regular non-3D movies that are equally good. As long as you've got good content, I don't think anybody really cares about whether a movie is in 3D or not. So unless people have really perfected the art of 3D projection, there's no way I'll be voluntarily watching any other 3D movie till then.

Apart from watch YouTube and the aforementioned movie, I spent my entire Sunday listening to songs, playing songs, and um, being in the Music Room teaching Fatinn how to play 'Semua Tentang Kita' on the guitar.

Yeah, a rather music themed day today.

Woke up to the sound of heavy rain and thunder and lightning and I was like, "Yesss" 'cause I love rain.

And the weather today's been consistently great 'cause it's cool and shady and everything I love about the weather.

And because it rained I spent my entire morning listening to 'Sunday Morning' (the acoustic and album versions) and playing it myself (choppily, because I suck that way). (You know, the line "Sunday mornin' rain is fallin'.)

Woohoo.

Feeling so, so good. Mm yeah. (Oh God, I really am high.)

Okay, F1 time (this means non-F1 followers please look away now).

I have to admit, Red Bull is stronger and faster than Ferrari in performance, but Ferrari is so coming back. 1-3 to 2-4 means that the front of the field is totally dominated by Red Bull and Ferrari (they may have the better car but we've got the better drivers).

I think Alonso's second place was fortunate, 'cause if Vettel hadn't gotten the drive-through penalty for safety car infringement it would've been a Red Bull one-two.

And Massa drove a really good race, despite the car being significantly slower than Red Bull's. Managed to close in on Vettel to around 5 s before the race ended.

And about that safety car, oh God, I really don't like the safety car right now.

Alguesuari started leaking something out of his car, and then the safety car came out, and then everyone pitted, and then there was this huge mess where Kubica ran into Sutil (and earned himself a stop-go penalty) and Rosberg's tyre flew off in the pit lane and then Webber didn't stop and ended up winning the race.

So yeah, that was about it.

Oh, and Hamilton had to retire 'cause of some car problem (didn't quite clarify).

Gotta go now.

Haz stuff teh do (like read Sherlock Holmes).

Night.

P.S. Did I mention how much I loved today's weather? I love today's weather.
