Hiatus...

I'm taking this brief opportunity (my mum wants to use my computer) to let you guys know I'm not dead (yet), but merely taking leave 'cause of exam stress.

I will state again: Damn this PMB.

See you on the 9th of August, a day after the Olympics start. *sigh*

And I bet I'll get to go to training again. =) Which is a big plus.

Good luck to all those sitting for qualifying as well.

Adieu.

Completely wacko.

While I wait for my epic photos to be uploaded, I will type some stuff about today before I proceed onto yesterday. It lags. With a capital L.

And since I feel very long-winded today (just trying to put off that Geo right beside me), I'll walk you lucky people through my day. *cough cough*

I tried so, so hard to not fall asleep again after waking up. I slept. Well, I said "tried". Managed to haul my ass over to the bus when it came though.
Climbed up up and up to my (still) empty class with Neko. Tried to read some History after sweeping (yes, I care. Saturday's the only day when 'cher Sofy doesn't complain about class cleanliness) but kept getting distracted.

Thanks to Firdaus, Syaz and I laughed so hard during IRK and made Cikgu Mahmud slightly suspicious. He had bought a History revision book with a picture *look down*
of Sultan Ahmad Tajuddin that looks like him (from a distance, maybe). Do you think so? Got the exact picture from the internet somewhere. Judge for yourself if you know our dear IRK teacher, then leave answers at the tagboard to your right. Depending whether your right is my right, of course. I could be wrong.

English period came, and my group wrote about points "for and against homework".
Against:-
- It's boring.
- It takes up all our time.
- It leaves us tired and unable to do what we really want.
- It gives us no time for recreation or other activities.
- It is stressful to be worrying about completing homework all the time.
- Work from school stays in school. Don't involve poor, innocent "home".
- It's a waste of paper.
- It gives teachers more work to do anyway. Who wants extra work?
- It's a waste of ink.
- It sucks.

Don't ask me about the "for"s. They were feeble and lame.

Science was...not okay, but not bad as well. Had to answer questions to get through the door into the lab, where we had a test. I asked James Brooke's picture to tell me the answers, but he wouldn't say a word. You gay freak, James Brooke. Why strip Brunei of its branches and twigs? Sultan Hashim said that, so don't blame me for comparing our country to a tree.

History was boring and uneventful, as usual.

That was about it.

Bet ya didn't read every single word I typed.

...I didn't either.

Epic...ism?

I was very bored. I decided to put down my Geo book and head to Bandar. Had a huge fist-fight with this guy, stole his boat, and checked out the bakau (mangroves) for real.

Pretty cool, right?

Nah, no, that's not what really happened.

First of all, why is my font coming out all blue and underlined?

I can solve the blue problem, but what?

So, right, back on the topic.

My dad had some friends coming over and wanted to have these white people  have the experience of a lifetime.

Well, sorta. Hey, my font's back to normal again!
He dragged me along, saying, "Forget about tuition," and I couldn't say no.

There were so many monkeys!

Oh, the monkeys.

Proboscis monkeys, and macaques.

And we did check out the mangrove too.

I saw the barges and gravel from the Geo Form 1 book.

We had interesting people with us too. A gay tour guide (no, seriously, homosexual. He kept talking like this to this old woman "oh, yes, darling, you see these monkehhs, they....") and our boat drivers were hilarious.

One of them said the monkeys attended school with him. "Sama klas kaliah," he said.

It rained half-way, but whatever. It was cool.

Random:

....Crime scene.

Who did that??

*makes "loser" sign with hand*

P.S. Maybe it isn't nice to talk about that guy like that, but he was very annoying. I'm okay with gays, but that guy was just plain... urgh. Like some bimbo, y'know?

Flying Munkay.

The good news:

- There will be a significantly smaller number of extra classes next week.

- CCA was fun. Haven't played so much ping pong in ages. Cool.

- I'm hooked on the 'Spiderpig' song again.

The bad news: Qualifying countdown is down to single digits.

Today was good. Yeahp.

Told stupid jokes, laughed till my stomach ached.

We predicted if I wrote a book, nobody would buy it and then some guy would go to some bookstore, pick it up, then exclaim, "Lim Ya Wen... Who the hell is this loser?"
Then 'cher Sofy who will coincidentally be there will say, "I know her! It's Lim Ya Weeeen!"

And then I'd open a company called "Ya Wen dan Anak-Anak" and sell...ping pong balls?

WEIRD.

P.S. To 3R people: Can anybody remember last year's 'flying monkey' story? I can't seem to recall. Any contribution whatsoever would be very helpful. Thanks.

Penaltiii!

You know, a certain teacher made a few mistakes this morning.

Ceremics, ferlilizers, smokless chimneys and musuems.

'Cher, I'm beginning to feel sorry for you. Retire already. Please?

Our Science teacher has restarted our extra classes, because she said she was panicking over the lack of time to do revision. Way to go. Hahah. She's a nice teacher though. Very friendly and not strict.

I miss all the nice teachers.

Now why did the Europeans come to SEA? Because they were "ke-po". Duhh.

I will so get 100% for that question if it ever comes out in qualifying.

Syaz, Steph and I like to play our "penalty" game. Rules are simple: speak in whatever language the class is in or else get a penalty. We still haven't decided on a penalty yet though. We just like an excuse to point at our friends and shout "penalty!" or "penalti!" (if it's BM).

We should really stop laughing during IRK. Making the teacher so self-conscious. Hahah. Sorry.

How do you write ransom notes?

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away...

No, wait. Yesterday wasn't that great either.

Note to self: Never cram three years of Commercial Studies into head in one afternoon (plus one night). This has proven to be very bad for health and is the main cause of insanity among 'cher Sofy's students.

Speaking of which...
*flashback*

I was innocently drinking my coffee when 'cher Sofy approached us. Zakie, Fizah and Maz all turned away from her because their accounts didn't balance and were afraid of getting lectured.
"Ya ween," she says. I look up. "Are you telling them the questions? Don't do thaaat."
Say what? She was accusing me of cheating/helping my friends cheat. Like, what the...? Of course, the questions she was referring to were the ones from our Commerce pre-qualifying test. Like I would do anything like that
"What questions?" I ask.
She looks at me.
"Ohh," I say. "No, cher, I wasn't! They're reading Geo, see?" I hold up Fizah's 'PMB Geography' book.
She gives me the weirdest look yet.
ARGH.

*end of flashback? (like, duhh)*

 Stupid.

Another thing that confuses me is our Geo teacher. She likes to boast and say she's "very clever", but can't answer any question without her PMB answer sheet. It doesn't make much sense, does it?

Damn homework.

Thank God for coffee.

Despite the boring-ness of Geo and the awfulness of the Commerce test, worst hour of the day goes to IRK.
I like IRK, but...

Sembahyang jenazah is very disturbing. I wish he didn't use that thing. Then I would've stayed in class and listened.

Emotionally disturbed. I shall say no more.

Tic Tacs.

Tests tests tests. Is that all teachers can say nowadays?

I'm addicted to orange-flavoured Tic Tacs.

Worst topics ever for PMB (for me) include:

Science - Electricity. I can't seem to get it right. Why on earth do diagrams show current going from the positive to the negative terminal when it already says "there is actually no such current as conventional current"?

Geography - Map-reading. I don't dig those little scale things, and the line measuring, and the six-grid references.

BM - Rumusan and ringkasan. What are those important points we're supposed to find? They drive me crazy.

Maths - Calculators and indices.

English - Comprehension. Hate those stupid questions.

Meh, there you have it.

It's raining. People who are swimming, please don't get hit by lightning.

I'm serious. It's cold, anyway.

Sultan's daddy?

My grandmother was browsing through my dilapidated History textbook just now and asked me, "Why do you learn about Hitler? He didn't even come to Brunei."

Since I was brushing my teeth, I merely shrugged, and she said, "I guess you guys like him a lot."

No, I do not like Hitler a lot. He does have funny hair though.

The (TKD) guys are going swimming tomorrow. One reason why I hate PMB is that I can't go. I want to play ball again, like last time. *pouts*

I need to go and learn up on SOAS III.

Ciao.

Gel.

Went for a haircut this afternoon. Looking good.

Pic up above is of Isaac at the dinner party Wednesday night and his chipmunk-y cheeks. So pinchable!

"I know my voice sounds like a girl," - Sir Raymie

Thank God for the Mobitel talk thing and that we could go to the canteen early so I could by chance meet Lorena.

She told me we all had to go for training today. So I went. Damn awesome. I never realised I missed it so much.

I brought my cube to the gym just now.
Sara is still cute. She was playing with it, and Coach nim asked me to solve it and timed me. I got a sad 2 minute plus. I need more algorithms. They think it's the math that does it, but it's not.
Arif said, "It's not maths, right? It's the method."
You are so right, my friend.
He tried to solve it, but kept saying, "I'm so sloww, so slow.." I guess he was under pressure 'cause Lorena, Fara and I were all watching him. Hahah.

All the guys tried out the "Izzat style" hair after finishing their 300 sit-ups. They stood in front of a wide mirror and starting stylin'. Funny. Yazid's hair is not suitable for the "Izzat style". Cannot spike.

Back to school this mornin'.

The Mobitel thing was fun. I love Mac even more now. Cikgu Sofian is entertaining. I liked it.
But I doubt the whole "computer used to study" thing will actually work. It's not... serious enough, though super enjoyable. Laptops. Need one? Maybe, perhaps. I want one, but not need.

Today's Fazrul's birthday. Happy sixteenth, monkey boy. I bet ya feel really old.

When my classmates asked 'cher Ruzidah to sign a greeting card for him, she couldn't help but add, "And remember to read your History..."
Majal.
I bet she had a hard time resisting writing that down on the card.

We had cake though. Fazrul's reaction: "Eyh, malu ku eh!" So girly. Neko nearly fell off her chair laughing.

Cake was good.

Wat-ver.

Don't you just hate it when people aren't specific enough?
And then when you ask a few more questions they start repeating themselves over and over s-l-o-w-ly like you're some dumb.....dum-dum.

But in some instances, it can actually be fun.
The unspecific part, I meant.

"Try to complete as much as possible," said our Geo teacher.
Syaz picks up a pen and pretends to scribble in an answer. "I'm done!" she declares.
Awesome.
I can do exactly the same thing. Only that we know she knows we know what she's trying to tell us. So no can do, sadly.

I told Syaz I could finish the book she borrowed from the reading room before she had to return it, but by 12.30 pm I still had about thirty pages to go so I skipped to the ending and skimmed through a few paragraphs. It was a happy ending, I guess. Didn't get it much though. Bad thing about speed-reading. Tsk tsk tsk.

I'm supposed to attend some dinner tonight. Just because my dad's cousin had a "leftover table" from her wedding party last year. I didn't know you could keep it for that long. But whatever. Free food. Good. Yum. Please no extra MSG, thank you.

I've got work to do *cough yeah right*.

Ciao.

The Remedy.

I was surprised I didn't wake up with some sort of hangover this morning. Alcohol makes you do funny things.

My dad and his squash buddies organised a dinner thing with their families. Since we already knew each other, it was no problem at all. I rediscovered the fun in living.

Even though I may not have enough passion for music, Taekwondo, or care enough to study real hard and try my best, I know I love living life. It's what's fun-est.
Corny..?

My ex-swimming coach told more stupid jokes than I could count, and they were all hilarious. Seriously, I hadn't laughed like that since last Thursday when we told dumb F-word jokes and joked about Fazrul getting married to (Sir) Elton John.

So, back to this morning, I woke up not with a hangover, but with ESP, or extrasensory perception. I told my dad, "Dad, Nate's coming today."
Being a bit blur at the moment, he said, "What?"
"Nate's coming today."
"How do you know that?" he asked.
"Instinct," I replied. He gave me a weird look.

If he was thinking I was going loony (which I was and still am), it was proved wrong when my uncle's car came into view after lunch.
"Ha!" I yelled, pointing a finger at my dad.
"Wow," he exclaimed. "You're right!"

Hahah. Lunatic? You judge me.

Things I miss right now:

- My beloved. (I've been bugging my dad to bug his friend to get it back, but he's such a wuss. *shakes fist at man whom my guitar is with right now*)

- The good old(?) days in '07 when we didn't have to have extra classes almost every day. In fact, we didn't even have them.

- Training.

- My Sims.

- Reading recreational books and not just studying (or trying/trying to look as if I'm studying) 24/7.

- Not having homework.

My modem is in constant danger of being zapped by lightning these days.

I remember back in January, when they (Brunei's Meteorological Centre) said the wet season was coming, it stayed dry.
And right after they said last month that the dry season was coming and we'd have to brace ourselves for the heat, it rained every night.
Then they changed their minds and told us we'd get the end of some typhoon, it dried up.
Now? They say the dry season really is coming. Try telling that to His Majesty the Sultan who's birthday party- sorry, celebration is being ruined by heavy rain.

Pity those kids who're waiting for the fireworks tonight.

Geek in the pink.

I keep getting these weird stares when I tell people homework is due Tuesday aka tomorrow.

Somehow I can't seem to remember it's a holiday tomorrow. But it is. Should I be happy (more time to play), or sad (more time to study)?

Apparently Cikgu Harisah missed us so much, she called us over to assemble even when we already had one on Saturday (she was absent). Babuyah-buyah mulut, cikgu. Inda payah tu.

We've got so much homework nowadays, I'm beginning to wonder if it's legal or not to overload your students with tests, quizzes and homework. Hmm.

We had a Science quiz today. It was pretty neat, but Fazrul wasn't at school today so there was only Steph and I for our group. Bleh.
Some groups *cough* got extremely lucky, picking all the easy questions. Kalok.

Khairul and Khallaaq cancelled our History extra class today. It's half good, half bad, because since it's awfully last-minute, we either had to wait for our transport to come and pick us up at two, borrow someone's phone and call our parents, or catch the bus (which was what I did). My school bus, that is.
Purple bus isn't to my preference.

I'm pretty pissed off at this friend of my dad's. He's had my guitar for a few months now, far too many if you ask me. I want it back. You got that?

My posts are getting shorter and shorter. Is it boring? Let me know, kay?

And for the sake of being random:
Yo what time is it?
It's laundry day!

Smooth.

I found out today that when you say 'Benito Mussolini' in this cheesy Italian accent, you'll remember the name for, probably, ever.

This is exactly what we did. I also remember that the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbour on 7 December 1941 because we read out the paragraph in a weird Japanese accent.

I wonder why it's fun to make fun of people's accents. Italian, Singaporean, Japanese, Filipino, Indian, French. Hahah.

There are also plenty of F word jokes out there.

My dad told me he knew this guy who couldn't say the letter 'P' properly.
One day, he was late for a meeting. They asked him what he was doing.
He answered, "I was outside f**king my car."

And those malay words... Like factor and artefact in Malay.
We always crack up during IRK when we say, "Faktor-faktor".

History, history, history. How more boring can it get?

'Cher Sofy's on MC. I wonder what's wrong with her. Let's hope it's not anything serious or bad.
Childbirth. Scary process.

PMB qualifying is in exactly three weeks. *come hither scary theme song*

Smooth.

Screwed up.

I never would have imagined anyone could get famous (without causing some worldwide stir or insulting some religion or political party) by posting funny videos that don't make much sense on YouTube.

Ryan Higa is one famous dude here in Brunei. Just to let ya know, you know.

I'm taking a break from training. I miss you guys... But PMB gets in the way. So there.

I'm currently into House right now. The television series, I mean. It's a great show. Love it.

This blogging thing, it's not working out right now.

History extra? Ew.

I'm supposed to be reading for this- sorry, these History tests we have tomorrow.

"Please read chapters four five six from Form One syllabus and chapters one and two world war one only from Form Three, class."

I can still hear her voice ringing in my head. Yes, 'cher, I know I'm not studying, but will you please stop annoying me for a few seconds so I can get this over with?

I know it's a bad thing, we keep talking about teachers behind their backs. I'm sorry.

But I just can't help it. The opportunity is there. I can't remember when there was a teacher this fun to imitate.

I don't have time to ramble on and on and on today. So I shall leave you here.

Suspenseful, ain't it?

Senile.

Ms Anne is completely into our English oral exams right now. Be prepared, she says.

There's nothing wrong with holding a five-minute long conversation with a total stranger. *cough*

We practiced questioning and answering today.

One good question would be: if you could describe your Geography teacher with one word, what would it be?
My answer: Senile.

That woman is completely, utterly, senile.

She thinks caribou get eaten by birds. But since when were there vultures in the Antarctic? I know one thing for sure, and that's that penguins don't eat reindeer.
I'm going to confront her tomorrow and claim that mark. What the hell, I'd say. Caribou don't eat plankton. They don't get eaten by whales either.
You're screwed up, 'cher.

Sorry. Really am. But the truth is the truth. And the truth must be told.

She's retiring before PMB, I heard.
Our BM teacher is going for an operation sometime soon.
Our Commerce and Maths teachers are going to give birth soon too.
We're going to be left by all our teachers before October, at this rate.

Weird.

Maybe they planned all this, you know.
"Hey, let's get pregnant so we won't have to teach 3R anymore."
"Yeah, great idea!"

XD j/k.

Majal banar cikgu ani.

Hah number 200.

I think I spend too much time doing this thing, blogging.
Bad habit? I don't know.

Yesterday's race was damn awesome. I love F1 for the racing, not when the person I want to win wins.

Also, I found out that our Borneo Bulletin takes its news mainly from British newspapers, because the Silverstone race is in England, and it made the headlines. Contrasted to other Grand Prix, they make a little teeny box the following morning somewhere in the Sports section. Not fair. All races should be treated equally.

Though I must admit yesterday's Silverstone's penultimate (maybe) race was brilliant. They really should make wet tracks and intermediate tyres compulsory every season. but we have Fuji, so I guess that makes up for it(?).
Fuji rains nearly all the time.

I'm doing Geo now. How on earth do you find the vertical interval in that workbook picture??

PMB qualifying is near. Cower in fear of the impending doom. And study too, if you can do that.

I face another dilemma. This epic question:

Who's worse, our Geo teacher or History?

Saturday, July 05, 2008

Silverstone.

I am currently re-discovering who added me and who's who on my MSN contact list.
Plenty of interesting people. Nice.

If Syaz gets to complain about her brother, so do I. He's currently addicted to my iPod Touch, and thinks it's his. Problem: it's NOT. And when I try to take it away from him, he cries and I get blamed.
Oh, and I found my pick. Apparently he took it and put it in a house-shaped piggy bank.
But he's got a fever now, poor him.

Mental note: Never, ever do presentations without preparation beforehand. It results in three words, which are crappy, lame and boring.
It was after all, the most boring topic in Science (lab safety and drawing apparatus). The other groups were dull (no offense) too, and it was a wonder how our Science teacher could stay awake through it all. Since Fazrul, Steph and I were the first group to present, Steph and I entertained ourselves with white coloured Blu-tack stuff while the other groups reluctantly presented their topics.
We drew faces on our little fingers and made the sticky stuff into hair-shapes. There was George Washington, Elvis, and a doggy. Cute.

I get this feeling sometimes that our History teacher actually enjoys boring us to death. She smiles when she asks us to read and wait and wait and wait and goes over the time limit and watches us just sit there doing nothing.
It's freaky and creeps me out.

Qualifying is in three weeks. Oh crap.
Screw qualifying.

Except maybe F1 qualifying. I could hardly believe it when Mark Webber topped the list only to be beaten by Heikki Kovalainen at the very last second. Nice.
Lawa. Good play.
Except Lewis Hamilton didn't even bother to congratulate his teammate on his first pole position and just sat there staring angrily at the timing screens. *cough loser cough*

I wonder, when's our fun fair?

Training was tiring. Don't feel like reading. Besides, it's late and I want to slee- ∫˙øπ“ij0nohbvfhghyIJKMariftvBYGHPIjiklllll

Whoops sorry. Nodded off for a moment and hit the keyboard. XD

Mmm... Pizza.

Let's see... what do I have for homework?

- A Science presentation to work on. (Come on, who doesn't know they're not supposed to drink from bottles with the label "toxic"?)

- A BM past year paper to do.

- Geography workbook. I really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really dislike that workbook. Map reading makes it even worse.

All pretty boring. The epic question is, which one is least boring?

School authorities found Sil Suan's bag today at the guy's section of the gym. Hm. Big mystery. Then Cikgu Ramlah got a phone call from the HEP (hence we know they recognise the uses of the mobile phone) and asked Sil Suan to head down there to sort out some stuff.

Met Lorena at school today to pass her the newspaper article with Nureen and Yazid's photos and a passport photo of me for some form. They're having training now. I want to go. *pouts*
Pesta pisang.

CCA was dull.

Class was also dull. That History test, it did happen (in the form of past-year-papers, class).

The only reason why I like Thursdays is that we have least classes and that we get to go to the gym. Also, it indicates another week is nearly over and the weekend has come.

Nothing much has changed so far this new term. Teachers still like giving homework and I still dislike it.

I want pizza.

So pizza I shall have.

"You light the sky up above me," - Take That

Somehow Google-based servers were down yesterday, so I couldn't blog, as much as I wanted to.

Now I've forgotten what I wanted to say. Something about it being July already and officially half of 2008 has been spent doing stuff and wasting time.

At least some of that stuff was really fun.

Like training, and PSK.

And that wacky field trip.

So far, so good.

I want to go for training tomorrow at the gym, but as much as I want to, I can't. My dad's heading off to Miri with my grandma so not only I have no transport, I have to stay and help my mum (post-operation, not allowed to drive) look after my brother. *sigh*

I missed you guys already on Sunday. I miss you guys even more today.
I want to attend our "pesta pisang" and carry out our plan to make the whole world obsessed with bananas. Oh well. I guess I have to compromise by eating a banana after dinner. Which I did.
Lorena and I were discussing about how we would have war with monkeys because we keep eating their bananas (monkey staple food?). WW3!

There's still Friday, but I have to leave early because of tuition.
Speaking of which, one of my tuition-mates made a "bet" with our teacher (who supports Germany). She lost.

For some reason, there will be no transport for extra curricular activities this month, which means you will either have to arrange for transport yourself, or stay in school. Taekwondo is staying in school. Awesome. But I don't want to skip my CCA to see it, because we're continuing our little fruits project in Photo Editing if the guy brings his pen drive.
With great powers (pen drive) comes great responsibility, says Spiderman.

Our History teacher (via many many people to me) asked us to read Chapters 1, 2 and 3 of our Form 2 textbook for our class tomorrow. Maybe for a test. I don't like those.
At least extra class has been cancelled, like our Geo extra yesterday. Our Geo teacher didn't even remember we had extra, so she was like, "What extra?"
Taking advantage of that, we asked her to call it off. They've got this gulingtangan competition thing going on anyway, so she's kinda occupied. Please come late for class. Thank you.

Sil Suan lost her bag today. I won't say 'misplaced', because I know she knew where she out it: outside the reading room, next to the lecture theatre. But when Ms Anne dismissed us, her bag was missing. Like, wasn't there. Who on earth would steal a bag? Bag full of money, sure, but a school bag? That's so gay.
If it was a prank, it's a stupid one. Nobody likes to lose things at school. It sucks. Whoever you loser(s) are, please give it back. It's not cool.

Anglo-French rivalry. They stay enemies for so long, and become best of friends right before WW1. Love-hate relationship? You decide.
