Where Got Ghost?

Oh hey, can you believe it?

I haven't blogged in more than thirty-six hours. Oh my gee.

And guess what? The world's still standing, no big deal.

Anyway, sarcasm aside, we celebrated Teachers Day at school today (Teacher's Day here is on the first of September, not the 23rd like back home).

It was cool. Didn't screw up at all.

Went out to Bugis with Pacahh afterwards. Bought two books at Kinokuniya just for the sake of buying books. I know I haven't finished Arabian Nights yet and I've got a few more unread, but it doesn't hurt to have more, right?

Been reading Arabian Nights for weeks now, and I'm finally around the halfway point. God, that is sad. I mean, it's not that it's terrible or anything; it's actually quite good. The thing is, it's just so terribly tedious and the font is so teeny and there are so many stories crammed into one book you just can't stand it.

Fatinn started reading before me and she gave up after Ali Baba.

After jalan-ing, we watched 'Where Got Ghost'.

It was funny, but compared to 'Jangan Pandang Belakang Congkak', not so much, 'cause 'Where Got Ghost' was scarier (this is coming from orang yang penakut banar, or in other words, a total scaredy-cat).

Hate horror movies.

There was this continuation of 'Money Not Enough 2' which was pretty touching. Like, heck, wow.

Though I think Jack Neo's movies are getting rather preachy. I don't know, honestly.

After sungkai, we had ice cream. Yum. Gelato good. I love ice cream.

Speaking of ice cream, Kimi won at Spa last night. It was like, the closest to a perfect race you could ever get. If only Massa were there.

The Belgian Grand Prix was awesome because:

- Ferrari won a race for the first time this season.
- Force India got its first points ever with Fisichella second.
- Hamilton crashed out early in the race and posed no threat whatsoever. (Did that sound too mean? Sorry, Hamilton fans.)
- Ferrari gave Kimi great pit stops this time and didn't make any careless mistakes whatsoever.
- Vettel said "sh*t" during the live post-race interview. Cheeky move, that. I actually don't mind him joining Ferrari one day.

Still miss Massa though.

All right, I think this post is getting kinda long and possibly boring for some of you guys (though honestly if you think I'm boring you shouldn't be reading it anyway, so buzz off), so ciao for now.

P.S. Now I know why those sharpeners we used to have in primary school have those round mirrors on them: When people sharpen their eyeliner pencil things, they can draw it on right away. Cool. I always knew the purpose of the mirror wasn't only for cheating during tests. (I kid, I kid.)

I Killed Bigfoot.

Good morning, Singapore.

Told ya I'd be back this morning.

It's drizzling right now, and it's all cool and breezy. Love it.

Anyway, here's a letter I wrote for this scenario we were given during the writing workshop.

Scenario: Someone has left you a teddy bear and you may or may not know who it is. If you could write one letter to the person who left you the bear, what would you say?

The letter:

Kind sir/madam,

I am sorry to inform you that your measly attempt to assassinate me has failed terribly. Upon noticing the bear perched innocently on my doorstep, I recalled my previous training and disposed of it immediately with a pair of tongs, leather gloves and an incinerator.

I am pretty sure any regular person would have reached for the bear instantly and died of the fatal poison soaked into its fur and filling. But you must keep in mind I am no regular person. So next time, I advice you to send a worthier adversary.

 Yours,
someone-who-is-still-alive

P.S. I am moving. Have fun looking for my new address.

...Yeah, I am that much of an idiot.

Funneh.

Hello, blogosphere.

Let me share this advertising fail with you guys.
Saw that at a CD store in Vivo (which was playing MJ songs as a tribute 'cause it's his birthday today).

Hitched a ride with Cheryl to Nanyang Girls' High School for the Literature Seminar Ms Lau asked us to attend (wondered where the guys how the guys were going to go to the bathroom on the way there).

Sat through around five presentations (lost count), three drama performances, an awesome set of tragic parodies and a workshop entitled "Who's Writing Now?"

I think if Cheryl weren't there to share lame jokes with, I'd have died of boredom ages ago. And I think if our MC dude wasn't so terribly funny, we'd have both died of boredom before the presentation we were all waiting for started.

'Genius in Insanity and Insanity in Genius" was the most interesting presentation next to the one on the maid called Wati.

Actually, I better write this in chronological order in case some of you have no idea what I'm talking about.

First off, we watched three dramas (the Baby with the Bathwater one was the best).

Then had free food.

Then went for this workshop thing with Cheryl and a few other NUSH people. Laughed our way through most of it. I wonder why hardly anyone else saw the funny side of things.

Then had free food again.

Then the presentations started. It was like CCA all over again, 'cause the people kept talking about wide shots and camera angles and when they close-up-ed to achieve the best effects et cetera et cetera.

It's more fun when you do the actual shooting, actually (though I admit it's horrendously tedious).

Since our super funny MC dude told us the tragic parodies by the RI guys involved cross-dressing, everyone kinda decided to watch that afterward.

Man, that was funny beyond words.

The Fates became a stereotypical bimbo, a black gangsta' dude and a schoolgirl (all guys, by the way), Macbeth got invaded by Teletubbies and I can't really remember the name of the last one.

People should make more parodies.

Can't stand being serious all the time. Don't know how people do it.

Went out to Vivo with Wardah, Fatinn and Nicholas afterwards. Wanted to watch a movie but it didn't really work out 'cause the movie timings were all off.

Really tired now, so remind me to post what I wrote during the workshop sometime tomorrow.

Adieu and night, all.

P.S. Happy birthday to Neko. Glad you liked your present, dude, and I honestly wish I could be back home to celebrate it with you.

P.P.S. Nick was telling us this pickup line for Math geeks he learned.

"You'll be sine squared theta and I'll be cosine squared theta. Then, together we can be one."

Funneh.

Jingle Fail.

I'mma start this post with a slightly retarded rough sketch of Pon & Zi from our newly decorated class noticeboard.
I find them rather cute and endearing, actually, despite the terrible emo-ness of it all.

Since Ms Lau didn't come today, we had an hour free during English. The last bit of the hour was used to kinda fill up our epic-ly blank noticeboard. Now it's epic-ly full with random drawings and phrases and other things people like us do on things like those.

Ms Li gave us a Ferrero Rocher each when she came in for class for being such awesome people last week when she was under observation. I love Ferrero Rocher. And not just 'cause they come from Italy, either. (Apparently the Guinness World Record for the most Ferrero Rocher eaten in a minute is seven. Anyone want to sponsor my attempt?) (I kid, I kid.)

Anyway, Physics was on electric fields and the application of static electricity. Then we went down to the lab to take the Physics bonus question I completely rushed and to play around with wires, bulbs and batteries.

I don't think anybody really cared about the bonus question, actually. I gave up with a few minutes to go 'cause, well, I'd done all I could, honestly.

Rewrote 'Jingle Bells' during the circuit thing. New lyrics are:

Jingle fail, jingle fail
Failing all the way
Oh what fun it is to fail
In the Physics lab today
FAIL!

Come to think of it, the first line should've read "Epic fail" instead.

I've had 'Angels' by Robbie Williams stuck in my head ever since a certain pair of Lithuanian ladies butchered it completely on X-Factor.

Internet sucks at the moment.

Going off to bed now.

Night.

Tone-deaf.

Is it okay to laugh at people who sing absolutely atrociously on television? 'Cause I feel kinda bad now and then there's this thing called karma.

Found out this afternoon that you could watch the entire X-Factor first auditions on the internet. (Watch-x-factor.com)

Like, go and check it out if you want. Seriously. Some were absolutely brilliant, while many were just plain awful.

I wish I could watch American Idol like this too.

The dude from last week's ACE came back to give us this talk on blogging.

Why must people categorise and label everything?

Hmm.

Anyway, it felt pretty weird to hear people talk about blogs and what you're supposed to do and what you're supposed to write about and what not to do and what you're not supposed to write about. Dunno why though.

My dad just texted me and told me he was looking for a drummer for his band, MLC.
I replied asking what MLC stood for, and guess what he said?
"Mid-life crisis."

Now that's funny.
I mean, I've always been telling my dad that I thought him forming a band with his colleagues at this age meant they were undergoing a severe mid-life crisis, but I never thought he'd actually name the band accordingly. Like, wow.

My dad's the bassist, by the way. Isn't he just awesome? I love my dad.

I think it's a shame if people don't have a musical background at all. Jamming equals bonding, man.

Had crossword puzzles for Malay and endured two hours of Math afterward. It's a wonder how I survive two hours of numbers and calculations.

Should I or should I not study for the Physics bonus question tomorrow?
I guess it wouldn't hurt to try, right?

P.S. Oh heck, I just realised August is nearly over. Time should slow down for me, man. I think I'm having trouble keeping up with it.

The Hardest Part -Coldplay

Talking to Neko on MSN right now.

We're kinda like reliving all our onstage memories.

I'm actually surprised how much I miss all that. All the rehearsing, practicing, coming up with introductory speeches, impromptu jamming, joking around and just plain having fun with songs. It's just something that can't be replaced, ever.

Sometimes I think I miss out on a lot in life, but I dunno. Can't imagine it any other way than what it's like right now. I guess that's just the way things are meant to be. I think I'm pretty cool with that for now.

Okay, introspective retrospective moment over.

Started on statistics during Math. Skipped two lessons for SAMC, so now the rest of the circle geometry chapter is all a huge blur to me.

Then I can't really remember what happened for the rest of the day 'cause I think time got fast-forwarded or something.

I screwed up my English comprehension on the gorilla story though. Sucked really bad.

PE was fun. Played Captain's Ball. Sashed against sashless people. Sashless won.

Then had to wait fifteen minutes for dinner 'cause they had to cook rice for us (it was kinda late though, so don't really blame them).

Alright, be ending this post right about... now.

Adieu.

Inspiration, dedication, desperation, revelation.

Euphonious.

Since I've got nothing better to do at the moment 'cept wait for time to pass by and since I need a break from 'More Than Words' and since my brain's too tired to do the English worksheet thing on vocabulary, I'll post slightly earlier tonight.

School today was fine.

Got up at half past five thinking it was time to get up and go to school. After I realised it was just Syaf going back to bed after sahur, I thankfully went back to sleep again. An extra hour is better than nothing.

I have no idea where I left my badge, so Cheryl brought me her spare. Thanks, man.

'Nyway, had this Youth Olympic Games survey thing during mentoring and then did a practice comprehension on the Olympics during English. Had a very Olympic-y start to the day.

Had a peribahasa quiz during Malay. Aisyah and I couldn't really concentrate 'cause Yos and Faiz kept harassing each other. By some weird miracle we all passed pretty well.

Chem test almost killed me. I dislike MCQs 'cause I can't crap to get at least half a mark or something. It's either you're right or you're wrong. Always have to resort to eenie-meenie-miney-moe and loads of guesswork. That's just really unsafe.

The rest of Chem was occupied by this article on coins labelled Literature review and compre questions to follow. The words "Congratulations, you have completed this blah blah you might become the next author =)" at the end of the question paper kinda enforced the fact that we were doing English during Chem class.

Now that's just screwed up.

Skimmed through the article 'cause I was too lazy to read the entire thing (or 'cause I was feeling kinda bummed about screwing up my MCQ section). Apparently mustard contains traces of sulphur. Cool.

History was on Nationalism in Vietnam. Couldn't help giving out the lamest answers ever. Sorry Ms Chua if you were annoyed in any way by my utter lameness today.

What did the French do when Vietnamese peasants and workers went on demonstrations and strikes?
They swore in French, of course.

Met up with Michelle in the Library to discuss our storyboard.

Had to run up and down the stairs like a total idiot for our short film. People were staring when I had to bump into Michelle repeatedly, drop my stuff and then run off again.

What was worse was that people actually believed us when we acted like we couldn't open the gate. Some poor dude came up to tell us we could use the turnstile, and a few other people offered to open it for us using their cards. Whoops.
Others just thought we were complete lunatics/idiots who didn't realise the turnstile was available for use.

Super exhausting, though it was fun.

Emily's here to practice, so I'm ending this super long post.

Arrivederci.

P.S. Apparently ducks have four legs nowadays. Highly interesting.

Redox.

Great race at Valencia today.

Man, race weekends make me miss Astro so badly.

The European Grand Prix at Valencia was great 'cause Kimi got a podium position at third, Hamilton didn't win (I guess that's kinda mean to say), Barichello finally won a race and Heikki did well.

The Live Race Centre tends to lag, so Stella gives me all the updates and added comments. Thanks, man.

Luca Badoer didn't do as well as I hoped. If I remember correctly, the dude spun twice, got one drive-through penalty and let Grosjean overtake him without defending.

I really miss Massa. Races are strangely different without him. He's coming back in October, but I honestly don't think Ferrari can wait that long. Get well soon, Massa, 'cause Ferrari need you.

Anyway, race day aside, I woke up considerably late(r) today. Half past ten. Not bad. I seem to be incapable of sleeping in during weekends.

I'm taking a break from Chem now. I honestly feel like I haven't read a thing and I'll screw up the entire paper.

It's all very confusing.

Something weird happened today. In an attempt to catch my pencil, it poked a hole in my finger and then my finger started oozing blood. Apparently fingertips bleed a lot but then clot really fast.

Interesting.

Anyway, I'm going back to my Chem notes. Wish me luck.

Peace out.

Free food.

Hey, I just realised I passed my five hundredth post yesterday.

Cool. Shows just how truly jobless I am.

Tonight, I plan to spend my time on the internet constantly checking my Safari windows for updates on the Live Race Centre, Mousehunt and MSN convos with Stella.

Race weekends are something to look forward to. Luca Badoer's replacing Massa 'till he comes back. Let's just hope both him and Kimi don't screw up.

The car lineup this week is pretty different. Grosjean (how do you pronounce that?) replacing Piquet, Alguersuari (second race for him) replacing Bourdais, Badoer filling in for Massa.

If McLaren sacks Heikki, I'm going to hate them for the next five seasons or so.

Just because your car sucks and you can't do anything to improve it doesn't mean you should blame your drivers and fire 'em as a last resort. That's not cool, man.

Gotta start playing my cards right and managing my time better.

Have an appointment in one of the Music Rooms later.

Anyway, spent most of my day sitting at a table waiting for people to come, reading my Chem notes, playing Solitaire and doing other things people at the Registration counter for SAMC do.

The Certificates of Participation we had to give out were full of typos and errors so we had to go 'round making a list of what was wrong.

Tsk. Such a waste of ink and paper.

Finally got to have ice cream at McDonald's today (they got their ice cream machine repaired).

Gotta go now, qualifying's started and Chem's calling out to me.

Adieu.

P.S. To all Muslims, happy puasa and have an awesome Ramadhan.

Friday, August 21, 2009

The spider has power.

Just got back from ironing my uniform for tomorrow.

Gotta wake up early tomorrow though it's a Saturday to go to the Science Centre again. Now that's just sad.

Speaking of waking up early, many other people will be doing it too, 'cause Ramadhan is here (again) and it's Puasa time.

'Tis the season to be fasting.

Makes me miss home.

Ramadhan means shorter school days, good, cheap food everywhere, holidays and Raya.

Raya is fun, man.

Anyway, totally regret skipping class today for the SAMC thing. Spent the entire morning not doing much apart from telling people where the toilets were.

At least we could go around the Science Centre for free.

Played pool earlier on. That was fun. My aim was terribly off tonight, no idea why.

The spider has power. Epic power. Used the spider six times, four times worked. It's awesome, I swear it.

Man, have to sleep early tonight. But I gotta study Chem.

Decisions, decisions.

Arrivederci.

Magical.

The internet has been lagging terribly recently, and I just realised I won't have enough time to study for Monday's Chem test.

Argh, my life is so screwed right now. Time management sucks.

I don't want to skip school tomorrow. (Yeah, you did read that right.)

Also, my Physics test was completely screwed over and I get two marks deducted 'cause of a question error.

On a brighter note, Physics (the lesson) was fun today, what with Ms Li and her "magical" rod and "magical lazy boy".

English was okay too. Had to come up with a menu, so now our store sells water (yeah, you read that right as well). Plain water. How awesome is that?
The store's called "H2OmyGod" 'cause it's so ridiculously expensive, people'd say "OMG" before they finish reading the first line of our menu.

Gotta wake up early to reach the Science Centre half past seven tomorrow morning. I'm hoping it won't be as monotonous as Wednesday ('cause this is the real thing, Wednesday was a rehearsal).

I also hope I don't get lost along the way.

The hostel internet server has Down's Syndrome. Don't like it. Sucky.

Anyway, I've got to go and read Chem (or at least attempt to) now.

Adieu.

P.S. I have progressed in Arabian Nights by a few pages. Congratulate me please.

Wednesday, August 19, 2009

Seven senses.

I'm still stuck on the three blanks in my English five senses worksheet thing.

I'm thinkin' the answers will be something terribly obvious and not adjectives at all.

Anyway, during ACE today, we had this briefing on gaming and how the guy who was briefing us lost at least twenty kilos after a chair he sat on broke.

It was rather interesting, actually.

I prefer to restrict myself to very few games, 'cause I have absolutely no self-control and tend to play too much (it's like reading a good book, you know, you can't stop).

Speaking of books, I read a few pages of Arabian Nights last night. Got to the part where Ali Baba's brother dies which is kinda morbid (he then takes his deceased brother's widow as his own wife as a way of consoling her, like, what the..?).

After watching this, we had an hour's break followed by Mother Tongue.

Malay was just plain weird.

We were supposed to come up with kefahaman questions for an article in Monday's newspaper.
Got sent by Cikgu to the counseling room next door with Faiz and Yos to work on it.
By some miracle, we managed to finish the thing (though our questions were either really obvious or really dumb) through all the Yos-molesting-Faiz-and-the-carpet and me telling them to shut up and concentrate (don't get me wrong, it was fun).

Then Ivy, Cheryl, Zhen Jie and I missed half of Math 'cause we volunteered to help for SAMC.

Wasted the entire afternoon away by being completely jobless.

Ms Li admitted she stalks us during our early dinner at Mac's.

Interesting.

Also, I kinda regret missing Math.

I be going off to sleep now.

Night.

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

Tiger go crunch.

Don't know how to do the Math exercise thing. Stupid diagram is extremely inaccurate and teeny.

Anyway, found out from Emily during dinner that we'll be performing together for Teachers' Day end of this month (or something like that) 'cause Talentsearch people have to do it (or something like that).

Hmm.

Hope I don't embarrass myself in front of the entire school. That wouldn't be cool at all.

Speaking of school (which probably makes up more than two-thirds of my post content), Ms Lau's on MC, so we had free time during English and we didn't have extra History, so we had extreme nothingness today.

Extreme nothingness was taken up by Truth or Dare, Dare or Double Dare, doing the English five senses thing, playing badminton and eating.

During badminton, Cheryl starting laughing at us because she thought we were "so comical". Badminton is a serious sport, man. Nobody laughs and tells jokes while whacking shuttlecocks with a racket over a net. *cough*

Then we (Cheryl, Deborah and I) made the weirdest abbrievation ever, "SMIO".

Stands for "Sh*t My Intestines Out", is based on Jia Hong's intestine story and stems from "LMAO". (Apparently there's a follow-up. The dude went to a temple to get the temple holy water for his "condition", and the dude at the temple told him "For this, you need a doctor, man." Funny beyond words.)

Broke down in laughter after that and we couldn't play properly at all. Kept shouting "SMIO!" and "For SMIO!" and "SMIO-itis!"

Afterwards, Ivy whacked MJ in the face with her racket and bruised the bridge of her nose. Poor MJ.

We're still talking about eyebrows and intestines and SMIO on MSN right now.

Need to go to sleep though.

Adieu and goodnight.

P.S. Tiger biscuits FTW.

Glow sticks.

To make up for a lack of post last night, I'm posting two posts tonight.

Did I mention the word "post" too many times last sentence?

Anyway, here be a few pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Glow sticks are fun to play with, 'cept when they break and leak onto your hands and clothes.

These were made by a few of the other guys who performed during the Boarding Concert (or Fatinn's new friends, as we like to refer to 'em). Lawa, yo.

Oh, and this is a pic of the cake we had during the August birthday celebrations at Kbox last Saturday. Chocolate banana good.

So about yesterday, I kinda wasted all my time on God-knows-what.

Honestly need to accomplish some things tonight.

See ya later.

Sunday, August 16, 2009

Boarding Concert 2009.

I wish we didn't have to go to school tomorrow, 'cause the Boarding Concert makes me feel like I don't want to go to sleep so early.

Just remembered we have to find a menu for English tomorrow. Whatever, I'm just going to haul up the banner from the Good News Cafe (I kid, I kid. I'm looking for one now, and the internet lags so bad).

But I digress.

The Boarding Concert was awesome

Like, super fun.

Made new friends, met new people and had a lot of laughs along the way.

We were second up after the 'Hotel California' people.

Did 'Lips of an Angel' by Hinder. Don't really mind if we sucked (I'm pretty sure we didn't, really) 'cause nobody else cares at that point.

In short, siuk banar, yo.

One of the pianists played this, which was super sweet and touching. It was a shame the video didn't work out.

There was plenty of awesomeness to go 'round.

Glow-stick thing leaked onto my jacket and it started glowing blue.

After all that all of us (performers and audience) sang 'Heal The World' by Michael Jackson together. It was pretty hectic, 'cause a lot of us didn't know the lyrics.

But still.

Good sporting audience = good performance.

Ah, life rocks.

...'Cept for the fact that I've got a History test tomorrow and I desperately have to study.

'Night all.

Nerd Partay.

Just got back from Kbox with the cluster.

Cluster outings just get funner and funner.

We met at the gate at three, then went to Orchard to jalan-jalan at Ion. After jalan-jalan-ing, we took a bus to Suntec to eat and karaoke.

Had kebabs with Syaf, Fatinn, Wardah, Emily and Woan Chyi at this Turkish food place.

We split into two groups at Kbox, our half being the crazy half ('cause we know how to rock, yo).

Yeah, it was pretty insane.

Screamed to 'Numb' pretty early, so we had to bring out the Strepsils to prevent the loss of our voices (still didn't work anyway, 'cause my voice sounds really off right now).

Then we did really sentimental and emo songs, then those songs you can dance to, then everything else in between.

Man, it was super fun.

But man, I don't want to lose my voice. That's not cool.

I'd upload a picture of the birthday celebration cake, but the internet is really annoying at the moment so I won't.

Ciao for now, 'cause I gotta go do other things.

Night.

P.S. There was a nerd party in Brunei this morning. Man, wish I were invited so I could party on with the rest of the country's nerdiest people.

Friday, August 14, 2009

Eyebrow-ing.

Just got back from this boarding concert rehearsal thing.

I'm high right now 'cause it's a Friday. Fridays make me happy 'cause I can sleep late and wake up later. Yeah, that's pretty awesome.

I keep disconnecting. I have no idea why. Must be my LAN cable.

Anyway, I don't want to talk about my Math test because it's a guaranteed fail.

Headbanging to MCR right now.

I'm so high, I can't even stick to the same topic for more than two sentences.
This can't be right.

Hold on, roll call. (Which I can do without opening the gate. I rock, man.)

Met Emily at the gate. I stuck my arm through the bars to use the fingerprint scanner and she said, "What the hell?"

That was just really funny, man, I swear.

History was fun today. Ms Chua told us we were her favourite class to teach. That's cool, 'cause we always talk a lot of crap and make lame jokes.

I drew a picture of Ghandi on my mindmap. Ghandi is cool. Confucius is cooler.

Cheryl claims Ghandi's her good friend. I've been claiming Confucius as one of my best friends for ages now, so shameless of us. But still...

My sore throat is gone by my voice feels all weird when I talk. Though I'd rather lose my voice than have my throat hurt when I swallow, it'd be awfully inconvenient if that happened.

Before anyone like, dies of my randomness, I better be going.

Adieu amigo.

Be good over the weekend.

W00t, weekend!

Intestines.

Hey, guess what?

My throat is all better now. Fisherman's Friend and Strepsils really do work.

I'm taking a break from Math right now. Tired, tired.

Physics test wasn't so bad, but I screwed up a few questions and got really lucky in some places. I hope I pass.

I don't want to fail my Math test either.

Tests aside, we had Famous Amos cookies during English today. Ms Lau was trying to get us to describe the taste.

I'd have done it like this: "Yum. Tastes like cookie. It is a good taste. Cookie go crunch."

But that would've just been really dumb, so I didn't.

Oh, and the piping system above my table leaks, so I had to move to Ivy's place (she didn't come 'cause she was sick) during Physics.

After the test, Cheryl, Jia Hong, Deborah and I went down to the canteen for lunch. While we were buying food, Jia Hong started telling this story about her dad's colleague (details are gross, talk to any of us personally if curious). So apparently this dude had to pay fifteen thousand dollars to get his large intestine shoved back up his ass (typing that made me laugh).

Cheryl couldn't eat a bite for ten minutes 'cause we kept cracking up. Man, we laughed for like, five minutes straight, and it went on till we finished lunch went back to class.

It's not that we were sadist or anything, it's just the absurdity of it all that makes it funny.

'Nyway, I've got to go back to surds, matrices and trigonometry now.

Night.

Wednesday, August 12, 2009

Fisherman's Friend.

It's about time I logged into Blogger today.

I think I woke up quite a few times early this morning to drink water. Throat is super sore and annoying.

I was wondering if I'd be able to post tonight, 'cause of my sudden undying dedication to the study of light and refraction and convex lenses.

All this stuff is just so bleh. I mean, I like Physics, but I can't stand all the fancy talk. Stupid questions just don't go straight to the point.

I'm giving up on the MCQ worksheet thing Ms Li gave us during our Physics consultation. Brain doesn't work anymore.
There's this really weird question where this guy stands in front of a mirror and sees a girl running at 2m/s toward him from behind. I mean, how on earth can he tell? And how on earth does someone run at 2m/s? Why was she running toward him in the first place? Who knows?

Half the questions in Physics are like that.

It's like they're purposely trying to make us hate it.
I don't want to hate Physics.

It's cool.

Sore throats are annoying. I read from the back of the Fisherman's Friend I bought today that you could get diarrhoea from eating too many cough sweets.

Whoops.

I'mma go sleep now. Poor brain of mine needs rest.

But first, gotta read up on magnification.

Adieu.

P.S. Schumi's not racing. And it still won't rain. No like that.

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

Shuttlecocks.

Need to read for Physics. But I'm not doing anything.

I have a sore throat now. That's not cool, man.

We finally had badminton today during PE. I like it, but I suck really bad.

And I'd hate to be a shuttlecock. 'Cause if you were one, you get hit all the time, you get called a shuttlecock (you know), and you sometimes get blamed when something goes wrong. Stuff like that. It'd be great to be able to fly like one though. Whee.

Math was hell, and English was okay.

Ms Lau made us listen to sounds and write half a page on it. My row got something like a baby crying then gurgling. Cute.

MJ made up some weird shaolin kungfu tutorial today.
It was all, "Wachaaa!", then "yi li ta xi kua" (or however you say it, my Chinese sucks. It was some taichi thing involving watermelons).

Hilarious.

Then Rania, MJ, Jia Hong and I did the "international conference" thing again with all the foreign accents.

Come to Italia, we make da best pasta and pizza.

So racist.

I'mma go off now. Need to iron my uniform for tomorrow. It's become this routine thing with Fatinn.

Arrivederci.

Malta, baby.

The first thing I noticed when I woke up this morning was "Oh heck it's raining,", and after that I couldn't really go back to sleep because I felt so happy about it.

There's seriously something wrong with me.

Ivy's dad picked me up from school this morning to send us to the MRT station to meet MJ. Spent ages trying to figure out where the "back of the train" was. I think I might be retarded.

Karaoke-d at Kbox again, this time with MJ, Ivy, Wai Yin, Mr Fadhir (their ex-Chem teacher) and Cyrus. Super expensive, but we stayed an extra hour and forty-five minutes.

I learned a few things today. Firstly, always bring Strepsils if you want to karaoke. Secondly, 'Numb' is not good for your voice. Thirdly, arcades are the best money-vacuums I know. Fourthly, well, fourthly... I can't come up with anything, so we'll skip that.

Fifthly, it feels really good to finish homework earlier than everyone else, 'cause when you're out and having fun, you don't have to worry about it anymore.
Sixthly, when you move someone out in The Sims 3 to a selected lot, you have to make them your active family. I have no idea whether I can go back to Bloo Dude's house anymore. The poor old rockstar who looks like a fat Adam Lambert. I'm gonna miss him if I can't play him 'nymore.

Seventhly, people rarely use the term "seventhly", so it sounds kinda weird.

So there you have it. "Some of the Things I Learnt Today".

We've got a long day tomorrow (full of breaks, though) and PE (please let us finally play badminton, pleeease) so I better sleep early tonight.

Adios amigos.

I'm not a man.

Some day, I'm going to answer a few of the most baffling questions in the universe. Such as, "What is the meaning of life?", "Why did the dinosaurs go extinct?", and "Why in the world is Facebook so addictive?"

I just got back from Emily's room to practice for the Boarding Concert '09 thing we auditioned for about a week ago but I never mentioned because I was afraid we'd fail terribly but we got into anyway so now I'm talking about it now.

Sorry for the lack of punctuation, I'm kinda high right now.

I finished my History mind map on the reasons for Siam's independence. And I'm done with my Malay. Yeah, man, such a great feeling. Plus, there's no school tomorrow.

Life is fun when you live it right.

But I digress.

I was telling Pacahh just now that the key to a great performance is practice. And to with good practice, there is correction. And for good correction, we need correction tape.

I honestly don't make sense at this hour of the day, you know.

But whatever, I'm awesome that way.

I was in the Music Room with Ivanka, Ly-En and Woan Chyi earlier on, but we got kicked out by a dude with an electric and an amp. Ly-En was teaching us how to play the Phantom of the Opera theme thing from the movie on the piano. Cool.

I want to be diverse. Someone teach me how to drum properly.

Or maybe I should go down to practice more. Yeah, that should work too.

I sound like some rockstar-wannabe right now. Oh well. Don't judge me.

I'm going off now.

Adieu.

P.S. I finished one chapter of Arabian Nights last night. Yeah, man. One. Such an accomplishment. The book is strangely straightforward.

And the princess said to the prince, "I am so consumed by my love for you that I don't mind being separated from my mother and father."

You have got to be kidding me.

Mass convos.

It's near nine o'clock at night, and I've still got a pile of homework to do.

History mind map thing, Physics assignment, Malay kefahaman, et cetera et cetera.

Laundry in the dryer.

I feel like playing pool with Emily. Yeah, I should, in a while.

It still hasn't rained yet. Why not? The humidity is killing me. The sky has been hard to read over the past few days 'cause of the haze. Stupid haze.

Also, the internet speed is really laggy.

I think it's all Facebook's fault. Without it, people would use the internet less, and therefore the internet wouldn't lag so much. Does it work that way? I don't know.

Since I've had a rather monotonous day, I haven't got a lot to type for this post.

You know what?

I think I'm going to go and play pool.

Adieu.

P.S. Facebook is just too weird for words.

Facebook.

Events events events.

- It's my dad's birthday today, and my dear uncle sent me a few pictures, including this slice that was meant to be for me if I were there. MAN. I want to eat that so badly.

- National day celebration meant that school ended early today. The funniest part was probably the teachers on our side of the hall all looking either quite pissed or confused while everyone else was having fun. Cheryl and I thought it was hilarious.

- Went out to Vivo with Pacahh. Then watched a movie. Then chilled somewhere.

- Came back, made a Facebook account. Sue me. I think I just ruined my social life.

I've had a real account for around an hour and it's already super annoying.

I really regret this, man.

Peace out, dudes. I be tired.

Arrivederci.

Mimpi Yang Sempurna -Peterpan

I seem to be lacking quite a few things for my Chem file. Hmm.

I think I'll give up. The weather isn't making things any better either.

Haze, humidity, heat. Hate 'em all.
I wonder what the sky was like five hundred years ago. Perfectly blue, the air smelling crisp and of morning grass, stars shining bright at night.
We killed it all, man.

Since Ms Lau's back, we've got a new seating arrangement. It doesn't make much difference to me though, 'cause I get to stay in my corner next to the wall (thank you Ms Lau).

Rania and MJ got moved though. Ivy went from sitting beside me to behind me, which means she still gets to steal my things and I still get to twirl her pens.

Had to write a description of someone during English. Jonathan and I chose to write about Ms Li (was actually surprised 'cause he didn't mention the words "bus" or "SBS" at all).

Then during Physics, Ms Li wouldn't admit she liked it. She laughed, then added, "Please don't put this on the internet okay?"

My brain doesn't process numbers very well. By some strange miracle (and plenty of help from Deborah and Zhen Jie), I managed to finish my Math assignment and the tutorial thing that teacher made us do.

Trigonometry isn't that bad, actually. I'm kinda okay with it. We're cool, right, trigo?

Oh, and we played "Dare or Dare" again today. When we played the day before, we came up with the awesomest dares. Deborah had to run the full length of the canteen shouting "Goal..!", Jia Hong had to buy a packet of $0.60 nuts with a fifty dollar note, I had to unstack and restack thirteen chairs, Rania had to buy an imaginary drink from the vending machines using imaginary coins, Jean had to run around a pillar then hug it, and MJ had to pretend a pillar was her Ryeowook.

This time 'round though, it was less insane.

I think we're running out of things to dare people to do that people'd actually attempt.

I'mma go to bed now.

National day celebration tomorrow. Cool.

Night.

P.S. Happy birthday Izzah. If anyone sees this, please let her know I didn't forget.

P.P.S. There are a lot of birthdays this week, man.

P.P.P.S. 12:34:56 7-8-9 tomorrow. My dad's birthday. My dad rocks.

MSN hates me.

Isn't it intriguing that Paula Abdul quitting American Idol falls on the same level of news urgency as the Iranian elections?

We had this sexuality education thing during ACE this morning. Some parts were really weird and some parts were just plain funny.

Then we had Malay, which was cut short by half an hour 'cause our teacher had to leave for an appointment. Was supposed to summarise a newspaper article with Insan and Ahmad but failed terribly. Kept going off-topic and ended up making up stuff on the spot. Not good.

Since we had around twenty minutes left before we could go back to class (other people had Chinese), we wasted our time by trying test out this phone book thing from Mythbusters with dictionaries instead. Yos was interleaving the pages of our Malay dictionaries when Abdur came and tried to test it out.

This is what happens when jobless people are given free time.

It was kinda cool, though we gave up interleaving page by page and did it by chunks instead.

Since our Math teacher fractured her leg and can't come for two weeks, we had this replacement teacher during our two-hour Math. I liked him, what with the Chinese accent, funny hand gestures and letting us arm-wrestle in class. Too bad he had to leave.

After all that, I accompanied Fatinn to Clementi.

To be honest, I think the Yamaha music school there wants to suck people dry of their hard-earned cash.

Also, I think many parents send their kids off for music lessons just 'cause they want them to be more accomplished in life and therefore get into great schools and colleges. I don't like that.
Now they practice just because they want to pass their practical exams, and learn songs only so they won't be scolded by their teachers.
That's not right, is it?

I completely disapprove. People should learn an instrument because they love to, not just to get those grade certs.

Got to go do Math now.

Adieu.

P.S. It's Ly-En's birthday today. Happy birthday, dude.

P.P.S. Gay connection wouldn't let me post this, so I'm doing it today.

Montage.

Study time in ten minutes.

But it doesn't really make a difference nowadays, since we can do it in our rooms. Same old same old.

The internet is super slow right now. I guess you can tell from there that everybody else is cooped up in their rooms with nothing better to do (unless they're really hardworking people who do homework without their laptops switched on).

It's really humid right now. I'm hoping it'll rain tonight. Or tomorrow morning. Nothing beats a cool, refreshing, rainy morning.
(Hotel California just came up on my iTunes shuffle. Love this song beyond words.)

I hear it's really hazy in Brunei right now. You know, we're all talk and no action. We acknowledge global warming, we claim we know its effects, we teach and learn about how to reduce it, but we're not really doing anything, are we?

Shame on us. Honestly.

Like what Calvin from 'Calvin and Hobbes' once said, "The surest sign there's life on other planets is they haven't contacted us yet."(Or something like that. I haven't got a photographic memory.)

I don't want to sound hippie or tree-hugging or anything, but look at us. All gossip, limited acceptance, judging others, complaining, complaining, complaining

It's no wonder we go to Hell.

Anyway, self-condemnation aside, school was okay today. PE got cancelled, which was a huge disappointment to all of us.

We want badminton. Why on earth did they close the hall? That's not cool, man. Though Ms Lee promised us an extra week of badminton to make up for it.
Badminton is probably one of the very few sports I can play without having to worry about getting hit in the face by a ball.

Stupid eyesight problem.

So then I stayed back to accompany MJ who was waiting for Rania.
Got caught up in the National Day montage thing in the process. Deborah and I made stars. Too many, actually.

Now I've got to go and find something productive to do.

Arrivederci.

P.S. It's Emily's birthday today, so happy birthday, Emily. You can watch NC-16 movies now. Hahah.

Moon-eating dragons.

They've just announced temperature taking twice a week at the hostel.

Yes. No need to wake up early on weekends anymore (though I do admit, waking up early on weekends is rather productive). I could do with catching up on some shut-eye.

The H1N1 fever (pun unintended) has kinda died down here, with flag-raising back on the track and temperature-taking significantly decreased. I would say that things are back to normal now, but since I'd never admit my life's "normal" or call myself "normal" in any way, I wouldn't.

We have our Malay classes in the counseling room now, complete with air conditioning, sofas, cushions and a sticky rat-trap. That's kinda cool (literally too), in a sense. Had strange conversations with our Malay teacher. We laugh every time someone mentions H1N1 'cause it reminds us of Cikgu Isa.
Hm. I wonder how the old dude's doing.

Ivy and Rania have started calling me "Kim Jong Wen". They like to think I'm related to that guy from North Korea (no names here, man). But I'm not, and that's not my name.

CCA today was about storyboards and different ways of filming. Interesting, but we still can't come up with anything good to film.

Oh, and this is why I got a Twitter account. To see if it were really that way.

And this is why I won't get a Facebook account.

Okay, just kidding. But the vids are funny, right?

P.S. Happy birthday Stel, aka 8A1 girl/SAS' cream of the crop/donkey/stick/stick donkey/whichever to your preference.

Karaoke.

I was going to post this yesterday, but since it's today now, I'll just change everything to past tense.

Us Bruneians celebrated Emily's birthday at yesterday, since we didn't have school yesterday (besides the obvious) and Tuesday isn't the most convenient time.

Wardah, Syafiqah and I (we got a head start to hunt for a present) met up with Emily, Fatinn, Feyra, Kevin, Faiz and Nicholas at Marina Square.

Karaoke is fun. Especially when the people are sporting (or crazy, if you want to put it that way) like us. There's nothing more fun or bonding than doing crazy things together, I swear.

Then they surprised Emily with a cake. Yum.
I bet there are more pics of yesterday on Facebook. I'm pretty sure you can find them if you're interested (don't do it).

Sometimes it's good to forget about everything else and just have plain fun. Screw that homework and stop caring. It feels so good. Too bad we can't do that all the time.

But man, yesterday was totally worth it.

We should do it more often.

Now I've got to go and work on today's post.

Ciao for now.

Beef lasagna.

'Zup, blogosphere?

Just for your information, the Facebook account under my name and with my picture isn't mine.

I mean, it's mine, technically, but it's not my email, I didn't create it, and I won't ever use it. It's kinda of like Wardah pretending to be me. So just ignore it. Though I appreciate Wardah's efforts.

But if you beg me and bribe me and bug me enough, I just might create an account. Who knows. (Note: Not gonna happen any time in near future, so just keep dreaming.)

We (Wardah, Fatinn, Emily, Nicholas and I) brought Woan Chyi (War's roommate) out to Orchard for her birthday today 'cause she'd never been there before. Wandered around Far East for an hour or so looking at weird T-shirts and waiting for them to finish shopping. I bought socks.
Poor Woan Chyi was made to wear shades that said "Happy Birthday" on top of 'em for the rest of the day.
When you celebrate your birthday here with the Bruneians in S'pore, they make you do weird things.

Met up with Syaf for dinner at Pizza Hut before going back to the hostel (via MRT and Fairprice and walking).

Birthday girl and her cake bought by Ivanka, Ly-En and Thu.

Yum, cake.

Then while we were having the cake, a few people tried to claim ownership over me.
Weird.

Oh, and check out the finger moonwalk, yo.

Peace out, homies.
