Shanghai 2012.

Before I start this post, here: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/formula-1/10-things-we-learned-from-the-2012-formula-795961

And it's true.

Didn't really pay attention to the race yesterday, because I was busy panicking over the amount (or lack thereof) of calculus I've done.

Was kind of a pity though, 'cause it's the first race we've had in three weeks, and according to Stanley and Joshua Sia there was a tonne of really good racing. Man.

Anyway, want to talk about the results, because even though I didn't see any cars or hear the revving of any engines in action, I do in fact know the results.

Ferrari finished ninth and thirteenth respectively, and man we are not too chuffed with this. It must be frustrating for them to have to sit there and deliver these results knowing it'd disappoint thousands of fans. We understand that you can't magically improve the car to, let's say, Mercedes pace overnight.

And speaking of the pace of the Mercs, man, Rosberg was practically flying. Untouchable qualifying lap, and he basically owned the race. Very deserving of his first victory ever. Congratulations, Britney.

Schumi, on the other hand, could have done so much better, but a mechanic made a mistake and didn't screw his tyres on right, and he had to stop halfway round the circuit because he decided it was unsafe to drive with a tyre loose. Such a waste, considering how well he could've done. Tsk.

In the end, after a fiasco with Kimi slipping down the order faster than you can say "differential derivatives", Button and Hamilton joined Rosberg on the podium, and Webber scored his third consecutive fourth place of the year. Hamilton now leads the drivers standings, but Alonso's not far behind (only eight points, which is good because our car really is crap).

It's crazy because many of the teams and drivers are so on par with each other. Obviously you've got McLaren, Mercedes, Red Bull, then Ferrari, Lotus, Sauber, Williams, Force India, then the new teams. People must be betting like mad now, because you never know what's going to happen. Three races in and we've had three different winners. Button, Alonso, now Rosberg.

I'm hoping Kimi will win a race. Or the championship, even. Who knows.

We'll see next week in Bahrain (if the race goes on).

P.S. Alonso has become a regular tweeter and it's awesome.
