"As snow falls on desert sky," -MCR

This swine flu epidemic is confusing.

Till a few days ago, I didn't even know it existed. Now everybody's talking about it. What's going to happen? Will they close down the schools? How many more people are going to be infected, affected, and die? Are we going to be able to go back home this June? Who knows?

(Note there are two different links above depending on what you want to know.)

Can people catch swine flu from eating pork?
No. Swine influenza viruses are not transmitted by food. You can not get swine influenza from eating pork or pork products. Eating properly handled and cooked pork and pork products is safe. Cooking pork to an internal temperature of 160°F kills the swine flu virus as it does other bacteria and viruses.

Hah. You see, it's okay to eat pork (not that I do, anyway).

Temperature-taking every night after roll-call and every morning in class? Tsk.

On other matters, I finished reading 'Outcast' this afternoon (meaning yes, I did eventually finish the "bunny book", Watership Down).

Outcast is great. Such excellent consistency in writing flavour. I like.

Watership Down was at times exciting, pointless, intriguing, and strange. Taking into account that the entire book was written about rabbits doing rabbit things in a rabbit's point-of-view, it was pretty awesome too.

Must start studying. Swine flue doesn't change anything right now. Exams are still going to happen.

I wish exams would just shrivel up and die.
