In a way.

I must be amazing.

Managed to do absolutely nothing productive today.

I wonder how that happened.

Tsk.

Not much to say about today, 'cept that I wasted away my entire afternoon either sleeping, reading LotR (nope, still haven't finished yet. I'm at the part where Aragorn declares Sam and Frodo be "praised with great praise", taking my sweet time reading about Aragorn's epic manliness and kingliness), or looking up strange things on the internet.

Google is your friend.

This is an interesting site though, if you're willing spending loads on certain pieces of jewellery that look amazingly cool. (Maybe Mr Wong will sponsor, just like he offered to sponsor for facials two days ago.)

Speaking of Mr Wong, he's got his own fan page on Facebook now. It's epic. He's got the greatest quotes (excluding Mr Chia's "your mum is a woman").

Example quote ripped off from Friday's Physics class:
"The frictional force depends on how smooth the surface is. For example my face is very smooth, because I drink honey everyday. I also go for facial, $120. Very relaxing you know. You want, I sponsor you."

Heck.

Oh my Gee I just realised something epic and amazing and utterly brilliant: I'll be able to watch the first race of the 2010 F1 season on television 'cause I'll be back in Brunei by then for the March holidays.

Wow, I could be jumping around and yelling my head off right now, but it's the middle of the night and I might get complained about.

But heck, I'm completely overjoyed.

Whee.

By then I'll probably to come up with a well-thought-through post entirely concerning F1 matters. (I know nobody actually bothers to read my posts about F1, but it sure feels good to write them.)

All right, better be going now.

See you guys.

P.S. I'm so hyped about F1 now I probably won't be able to sleep tonight.

P.P.S. Yeah, I'm weird that way.

P.P.P.S. Phrase of the day: "In a way."

No Boundaries

I need to sit down a reassess life.

Sitting down: check.

Reassessment of life: Undergoing.

What am I doing? What do I think I'm doing?

What if the world ends? What if time runs out? What if I never get to do anything significant in my life other than wake up go to school come back sleep?

This is so uncool, man.

It's strange how few people realise that life is short. Maybe we'll live to see the next decade, maybe we won't. Maybe we'll live long and fulfilled lives, maybe we won't. We don't know.

Look at the people in Haiti. Or the ones in Chile right now. Or the people who were vacationing in Aceh five years ago. Did they expect it? No. Then something happens out of the blue, and boom, earthquake/tsunami/bombing/car crash/plane crash, your life is over, everything changes.

I don't know how I can just sit here completely unaffected by everything that's going on. I feel as if, you know, I'm not doing enough for the world as it is.

I think I might be failing. Tsk, such a failure.

Anyway, went out today to watch 'Dear John' with Fatinn, Wardah, Syaf, Nick, Nazihah and Yee Rou at Bugis after spending an entire afternoon watching YouTube videos. And attempting to catch up on American Idol (seriously, Fox needs to hire me as the fourth judge after Simon Cowell leaves).

The movie wasn't so good. Pretty draggy, weird story line, not enough development, too chick-flick-y for my taste. I mean, yeah, it was touching at some points, but heck, it was just meh all the way.

Don't dig chick-flicks, man.

Gotta go now.

Adieu.

P.S. America's failed voting for AI disappoints me.

P.P.S. 2012?

Adam Lambert

Don't like the weather right now.

Very humid. Humidity doesn't feel good.

Woke up this morning, and could practically smell the haze outside. I wonder why it was especially hazy today. Something must've happened.

Tsk. Global warming.

Bio quiz today wasn't bad at all. Maybe gotten a few bits wrong, but that's okay. Way better than Math.

The lecture was fun (pretty fun, relatively, for a lecture on plant structure). Had it combined in one of the seminar rooms on the sixth floor with 301. Discussed weird things with Wai Yin so as to annoy Ivy (man, I miss doing that).

It was kinda epic as well, 'cause Mr Lee said pretty interesting things during the lecture, such as "You all know that flowers are a plant's reproductive organs, right? That means they're openly showing off their reproductive organs." (Follow that with an awkward pause for added effect.)

And then he accidentally showed us another set of powerpoint slides with the huge words "pornography" on the title page.

So very weird.

Ms Chua wasn't here, but she left instructions on Monday saying we had to hand in Ass. 1 to Adithya by today. Totally forgot about it till the class actually started. Whoops. Managed to finish it on time though.

Joo Kee brought a few Japanese girls (from that exchange programme thing) over during Math, and it was pretty unnerving to have them sit directly behind me.

Going off now.

Night.

P.S. I want to watch AI 9.

Bruneians are gay.

Just got back from the Grand Hyatt, and man, I'm full to the point of bursting.

Like Insan and Wan Shen say, we only get to eat amazingly good food like this for free once a year, so better make the most of it before going back to hostel food.

Attempted to try food from every table with Wan Shen, but I kinda gave up after my fifth round. Struggled to finish off the beef. Super hard to chew, The guys didn't really help either, 'cause Insan was making "om nom nom" and other eating sound effects, Faiz was making the "paedophile face" and weird comments about me eating Yos (highly disturbing), and Wan Shen was just staring at me failing.

Seriously fun. Brunei National Day rocks. Beyond awesome.

Verdict: Hyatt food is still brilliant, and the Bruneian guys are all gay (except maybe Wan Shen, 'cause he's not old enough for that yet).

Hey, pics are already up on Facebook. That was fast. Fatinn sure is efficient.

ACE, Math (test which I screwed up really badly let's not talk about it), non-existent Malay and English was surprisingly over before I knew it. It's like my Wednesday just flashed past. Interesting.

Going to have to read up for our Bio quiz tomorrow.

Wish me luck and no screwing up this time.

Adieu.

P.S. I'm so full, I don't think I'll be able to eat tomorrow.

P.P.S. After a year and three months, I finally know the lyrics to Singapore's national anthem. Cool.

P.P.P.S. Didn't post yesterday 'cause of the internet breakdown. Could've died without the internet. I heard Adithya was so desperate he tried out different floors, three LAN cables and other things like that.

P.P.P.P.S. Spent an hour of yesterday's study time talking about "Why did the chicken cross the road?" Now we've got an epic performance in plan for Talentsearch.

Monday, February 22, 2010

Headphones.

Hmm. Decisions are pending.

Talentsearch is back, and we've made another epic mass bet, except that this one might actually go somewhere.

The deal is to join Talentsearch, and see who can get the furthest. Quite interesting. I think I might be game, but I dunno. There are a lot of things to consider.

Listening to Adam Lambert's version of 'No Boundaries' now (courtesy of YouTube). Been stuck in my head since they played it during the SLI rehearsal on Saturday during the photo montage thing. I prefer this version to Kris Allen's, although Kris Allen's is more... singable. And easy on the ears. Both are good.

Anyway, tiring day today.

Learnt how to write formal letters in English. The concept is pretty simple.

The Psychotic Elven Princess

And there you have it.

Practically died during PE and came back to life again for Malay.

I'm going to get gloves and knee pads and crawl my way through 2.4. Seriously.

Was seriously nodding off during Geog. Didn't do much, 'cept listen to Ms Chua talk about meanders and the difference between levees and point bars.

SLI was bleh. Felt so hungry throughout the entire thing, went for second helpings of the free food we got afterwards (mmm, free fooood).

So now we're officially "installed" student leaders. Interesting.

Going to sleep now.

Yeah, told you I was tired. (And I don't think it's just me. Plenty of people fell asleep during Geog today too. Must've been the awful combination of hot weather and PE out in the sun.)

Night.

P.S. I'm afraid. Very afraid. Of cutting my earphones wire in half again. That, and I'm severely afraid of failing Math. God help me.

Fat blonde.

Accomplishment of the day: I finished a 500 word karangan.

Not bad, not bad. Bet my grammar and vocabulary suck though.

Highlight of the day: Went out to get earphones with Kelvin and Insan.

Met up with them in the canteen before leaving, and Insan was complaining about some "fat blonde". Wondered who for a while, then realised he was referring to Annabeth from 'Percy Jackson'. He thought some fat blonde was portraying her in the movie, 'Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief' when she's supposed to be a slim, pretty, brunette (which we watched later on just to see if she was a fat blonde. Turned out to be a Selena Gomez lookalike).

Then got laughed at 'cause of the earphone-cutting story (apparently a lot of people know now).

Waited for the bus for seemingly ages.

Drooled over the selection of earphones, headphones and speakers at the Somerset313 HMV. Finally got what I wanted (after spending half an hour or so trying to decide what to get), then headed to Wisma Atria after lunching (well, sort of. Complained incessantly about the huge amount of ice Long John Silvers's puts in their drinks, largely reducing the amount of actual drink).

Played around with the games on demo at Sony Style with Insan while Kelvin went to check out that camera model he wanted.

Insan got owned by a little girl. (The game was slightly retarded, anyway. You can walk up to the soldiers shooting at you with machine guns and simply kill them with a knife. Talk about fail.)

Hung around some more 'cause the colour Kelvin wanted for his camera wasn't available. I would very much like a surround sound system please. And a HD projector. That'd be cool.

'Percy Jackson' was all right. Not bad at all, although it's just weird that Zeus is so terribly unreasonable. Should be much better in the book though. And Insan will definitely agree with that statement, 'cause he was all "It should have been like this, and they changed everything. Oh my God, it's an entirely new storyline. And Annabeth, what did they do to her?" and stuff like that.

Movies based on books just don't make it somehow. Sometimes, I just want to say, "Forget public appeal and give us what the book says, 'cause that's what true readers want," but then again, without public appeal, it'd be a total waste of resources to actually make the movie.

It's a hard decision. The right balance between being true to the book and public appeal. And many directors and scriptwriters just fail right then and there.

Okay, going to bed now.

Night.

P.S. You may only sit on those "priority" seats on MRTs and buses if you've got a bloated stomach, a stick/cane, something resembling a miniature you, or if you're wearing stripes on one trouser leg. Or if your head floats right above your shoulders and have no visible hands or feet. Either one.

Evolution Garden

Note: This post is dated Saturday, February 20, 2010 and not as stated above.

Today's a Saturday (here we go again, pointing out the blindingly obvious). But it sure didn't feel like one.

Reasons why it didn't feel like a Saturday:

1. Woke up early. Seriously, man, it sucks to have to wake up early on a Saturday morning, when your roommate and toiletmates are all sleeping happily away knowing it's a weekend ('cause weekends are for sleeping in).

2. Went to school. (Oh wait, I live at school. Let me rephrase.) I mean, assembled at school, went on a Bio field trip and did school-related work.

3. Wasted time at the SLI rehearsal. At least I managed to write 160 words of that 500-word karangan we're supposed to do.

4. Was in school uniform for most of my day.

Yeah, that's pretty much it, but there goes another Saturday. Sigh.

Anyway, to sum up the Bio field trip to the Botanic Gardens in one word is simple: plant-y.

A lot of people have grown to despise the very presence of plants since the start of BL3105: Botany. But I think I've become rather attached to them. Interesting things, plants.

And I think we're turning mad or something. Was on the way to West Coast Plaza for lunch with MJ, Aisyah, Wei Qi, Mei Zhen and Si Min when we saw these random plants and started wondering whether they were eudicots or monocots and turning them over to look for sori (fern sporangium, not a failed spelling of "sorry") to see whether they were ferns or not.

I sorta miss the old times when we could walk past a flower pot without going, "Oh look, I know the scientific name of a species of the same genus."

It's just weird. As Debb put it, we've become plant-ards.

Went to the track and fitness corner with Fatinn and Woan Chyi after sleeping through dinner. Pretty fun. Ran (or rather, jogged at an extremely leisurely pace taking my sweet time) six rounds without stopping. My timing was epicly slow and failed. No surprises there.

All right, time for bed now.

Night.

P.S. Heard about Tiger Woods' public apology? Apparently, he is so sori.

P.P.S. My addiction to playing the Asturias intro is back. Need to learn the rest 'cause it's awesome that way.

P.P.P.S. When Fatinn said that nobody'd want to declare themselves a she-male on Facebook, I told her I didn't mind, actually, but if I did, the only thing people would say is "finally".

Epic stupidity.

Drooling over Skullcandy headphones now.

But I'm not planning to get new headphones, just earphones.

And you might be wondering, "Why on earth would she want new earphones?"

The answer to that question, if you didn't already know, is extremely sad and embarrassing.

I accidentally cut through my earphones wire yesterday afternoon while I was cutting stuff for my Bio scrapbook.

Talk about fail. And stupidity. God, how could I have been so careless and ridiculously stupid?

I'm still feeling kinda down about it. It seriously sucks to not be able to listen to songs while I do stuff. It's like I can't even do anything without listening to songs. I've been sitting here blankly at my laptop for a few hours not knowing what to do, although there's an MS Word window open for me to type in my still unwritten karangan due midnight.

I feel awful.

Planning to get new earphones (and possibly headphones, who knows) on Sunday with Kelvin and Insan, so that might cheer me up significantly.

Pretty tiring day today (probably 'cause of the lack of sleep I've been having since CNY started).

Did some textbook stuff and talked about black magic in gamelan ensembles during Malay.

Had a pretty entertaining Physics after that, 'cause of Ryan and Mr Wong and his videos (try to spot the Physics mistake in this video) and his ownage over Ryan.

Went through Ass. A in Math. Was falling asleep sometime near the end of the lesson, but managed to stay awake.

Talked about how Shi Ni is an "auntie" and how she admitted to having a face as fake as her fake boobs and butt with Debb and MJ in the canteen. Interesting.

Survived Chem. "What are the types of bonds? Ionic, metallic, covalent and James Bond." Man, we're lame.

Had too much to talk about during English. Spent five minutes listening to Shuen and Zhen Jie's presentation on caning, and the following fifty minutes being pretty noise 'cause we were arguing about it across the classroom. It was all, "Caning is effective," and "Caning doesn't necessarily work," and "We should convince them of the right thing and instill moral values before caning," and "If your kids are stupid enough not to listen to your advice, let them just get hurt, serves them right," and "Confucius says," along with other random things we like to shout out.

CCA was unproductive. Has some problems with the files, then spent ages trying to decide what to do first, 'cause we had to edit three versions of our CNY celebration, and we're still pretty unsure what to do about the orientation vids (do each day separate? Combine them? What duration?).

In the end we managed to extract the Chinese Orchestra performance audio from the raw footage, so we can play it over the edited version without it sounding choppy (footage from the other camera was missing, so we couldn't do much about the vid anyway).

9A girls from 8A went to Ms Queenie's apartment earlier on to talk about stuff. I miss 8A, but 9A is fine too.

Okay, going off now. Bio field trip tomorrow (means we get to see the Ball of Wisdom again).

Night.

P.S. How on earth do hairstyles, hair colour, ear rings, and coloured shoes affect your education?

Chupa Chups

What is up, blogosphere? (I asked KT this earlier this evening, and he simply looked up at the ceiling and shrugged. KT is pro, man.)

Since MJ asked, I'mma post tonight (actually would've done it anyway, just had to find the time to).

Nothing much to say of the past few days, 'cause all I did was practically just eat, sleep, visit people, eat some more then sleep some more and on and on. I feel appalled at myself for eating so much. It's a good thing I came back here, or else I'd have put on a huge load of weight if I carried on gorging myself like that.

But hey, what can I say? It is good food, after all.

Anyway, had school today (that's why Yee Rou, Wan Shen, Nick and I boarded a flight here last night. Wanted to take a detour flight to Canada, but decided against it).

ACE was titled "Mixed Signals", which was pretty misleading, in my opinion. If they wanted to teach us "polite" body language they should've just said so. Real "mixed signals" are all about the interpretation of body language to see if someone is lying, and if we were to use so called "acceptable" body language even when we felt the complete opposite, we'd be sending mixed signals, which kinda defeats the purpose of the failed title "Mixed Signals", since what we end up signaling will totally mess up our brain.

It was pretty failed.

Speaking of body language, I was halfway through this book my dad bought (I've been wanting it since it came out last year) before I left home. Didn't really want to bring it back ('Why Men Want Sex and Woman Want Love' is a great book, but you know, it'd be weird if I read it at school), so I left it half unread at home.

But I digress.

Discussed many strange things (normal to us people who take Malay though) during our non-existent Malay class in the canteen. Attracted a huge crowed, 'cause we were talking about some things Insan did and was supposed to do but didn't have the guts to in the end. Dared him during dinner, and now if he does it tomorrow I have to do whatever forfeit he wants (limited to my extent of embarrassment though).

We'll see. It's bound to be interesting.

The drinks stall was giving out lollipop-filled angpaus today, so a lot of people were walking around with lollipop sticks in their mouths.

I love lollipops (had this strange addiction to them once in MS).

Ah, Chupa Chups. The pleasure of sucking. There's nothing wrong with that unless you think wrong.

Stayed back to show up for that SLI (Student Leaders Investiture) thing, 'cause I promised Aisyah I would (ended up leaving an hour or so into the thing with Woan Chyi, 'cause we were just sitting there and not doing anything at all, so no point anyway).

Finished up our group's Cyber Wellness booth proposal in like, less than an hour (which was surprisingly productive and ended up being quite awesome). Managed to dismiss all the completely crap ideas and come up with something that might actually work.

Okay, going off to do Bio now, 'cause our leaf scrapbook taxonomy thing is due (preferably) Friday, and I gotta go do some classifying and scrapbooking (the scrapbooking should be fun. Kelvin's been obsessed over this project since our trip to the Botanic Gardens, and he's making me feel rather unproductive).

Adieu.

P.S. Why do we hardly ever hear the words "no" and "homework" used in the same sentence any more? It's so sad.

CNY OWNS

Okay, I probably won't have time to post tomorrow, so two successive posts.

Cupcakes Nadya's family bought for us (she's my brother's girlfriend, by the way).

They look so nice.

Down to business now:

Wishing you guys a happy Chinese New Year,
and an awesome year of the tiger.

May your glass never be empty.

P.S. Oh, and CNY totally overshadows Valentine's Day. In your face, V-day. Traditional, more meaningful holidays completely OWN commercialism. W00tz for being Asian.

Responsibility.

I'm waiting for dinner now, and it's the only time of (relative) peace and quiet I've had all day.

Woke up to my brother complaining like an old woman about how I wouldn't wake up at a completely unreasonable hour (seven in the morning. I wake up around there on a school day, man) to listen to him talk on and on and on about God knows what.

Got dragged around by my mum around town after that, 'cause she knows almost all my shirts are black, and there's no way I'm wearing black for Chinese New Year.

Anyway, took the MRT to Changi yesterday, with Nick, Yee Rou and Wan Shen (whose parents would've killed Nick and I if anything happened to them on the way).

Somehow made it back here, despite all the credit card verification trouble, constantly losing Wan Shen (whoops) and two ladies who sat next to me who seriously wouldn't stop talking throughout the entire flight (I was okay with that, actually, 'cause I had my awesome earphones with me).

Slept almost the entire flight away. I like window seats 'cause you can lean against the side to sleep, but my window seat got taken, so too bad. Had to lean against the armrest and was woken up every time someone squeezed past.

Packed flight. No like it.

Some parts of our Chinese New Year celebration thing yesterday were funny, like the ambition cross talk thing by the Chinese scholars which was awesome. Had to rely on subtitles though, 'cause it was in Chinese (besides the obvious).

Oh, and somehow had the most fun Malay class ever yesterday. Played some pictionary/charades thing with our peribahasa selection. Now that was weird.

Tried to talk Mr Wong out of Physics, but failed.

Stole pizza from 07 afterwards.

Okay, CNY dinner's here.

See you guys.

P.S. I LOVE CNY.

Thursday, February 11, 2010

Smart casual.

Trying to pack for tomorrow, but I'm at quite a loss right now.

It seems as if I don't have much to bring, 'cept a few clothes and myself (brain included).

Hmm. Don't want to forget anything.

Being distracted now (well duhh, since I'm here typing all this out) and reading my blog archives. I miss MS, and our old class motto (3R: we rock, we rule, we recycle).

Sometimes, all of it just feels like a really good dream, you know. Something purely awesome that happened in my life that I can't ever bring back 'cause it's over. If I didn't write back then, all those ups and downs and lame jokes would probably have disappeared in a few years' time.

Honestly, I miss 2008. Good times, good times.

Anyway, went to the lab for our Bio prac today. Was pretty fun, I guess, 'cause we got to look at leaves again (there's just something about me and leaves; they make me high, ever since that trip to the Botanic Gardens two weeks ago).

Handed in my prac just in time to return to our classroom for Geog. Ms Chua let us continue watching that Channeled Scablands documentary (which was seriously intriguing, and no I'm not being sarcastic).

I think it's pretty cool, the way the geologists of old came up with all those explanations and stuff like that based on "years of observations" (which here means "wasting half their lives peering at rocks and rock structures") and how they were trying to make it sound like some cheap suspense movie. I liked it.

Then spent our hour of break scrubbing the floor outside 06, 'cause apparently we left this huge mess of paint on the concrete (and got complained about).

Managed to get a bottle of acetone from one of the Chem labs downstairs, which made our lives so much easier (turpentine isn't as effective). The colour's still there, but at least it's all faded and way less obvious now.

Oh, and we probably won't get cancer from the acetone, 'cause I checked (I feel paranoid now) and it apparently isn't carcinogenic, so we probably won't be able to sue the school, like what Ryan apparently wants to do.

Came up with the strangest attire ever during study time. Now Insan, Adithya, KT and Colin plan to wear a tuxedo with beach shorts, a bow tie, pink shower cap, monocle, scarf, high heel (just one side), sock and slipper, cape, and go around on skateboards wielding sticks of Pocky as "Pockyman" on the first day of school after the March holidays. (I think I might have left some things out, but whatever.)

Interesting.

I really hope I can get it all down on tape, 'cause they do seem pretty serious about it.

All right, better go now.

Night.

P.S. My mum is awesome.

Mertiger bear.

Finished my Math ass., so feeling quite fulfilled at the moment.

Need to read those first forty-six slides of our Geog notes though ('cause Ms Chua said so, and we somehow think it's really funny to keep mentioning it during study time. It's like, "Quick, so I can read my forty-six slides of Geog," and "So, what do the first forty-six slides say?").

Spent the first half of ACE completely not caring about the CNY classroom decoration thing (complete waste of resources, you know), then changing my mind sometime later. It's good to care.

Check out our last-minute drawn-on-whiteboard polar-bear-tiger-mermaid hybrid. (And failed Tiger beer logo right next to it.)

We like to think that the mertiger-bear (an apparently "macho" version of the merlion, according to Insan) is just there to eat up our homework list.

Anyway, did some graph stuff during Math, then had non-existent Malay class.

Had some issues with the "bridging is compulsory" thing, but managed to sort it out (kinda) in the end.

Came up with some weird treaty thing during study time. Colin was all, "Hey KT, I'll give you Singapore if you give me India," and then KT went, "Let me think... Okay, I'll loan it to you for three weeks.'

Then we went on to talk about how ridiculous it'd be to move the entire population of India to Singapore, and vice versa. Singapore would overflow and epic fail, and India would be rather empty.

After that we considered moving the population of Singapore to China and vice versa, where Singapore'd probably sink and every Singaporean family in China would be able to like, own a town or city each. It'd be like, "Hey, you wanna come over to my city tomorrow night?" Weird.

Gonna go read LotR now.

Night.

P.S. Ms Lau mistook "rofl" for "lotr" today. That was epic.

P.P.S. MouseHunt has this double CNY plus Valentine's event. The Tiger Costume mouse is seriously cute. I heart CNY.

Tuesday, February 09, 2010

Typo.

Managed to borrow Kelvin's copy of the Math Ass. A question paper ('cause you know, I lost mine and all).

CNY is in less than five days, and I'm going back Friday night to celebrate (ang paus and good food, here I come).

I love Chinese New Year. Seriously. I absolutely love it. There's nothing more awesome than CNY songs, the food (especially those awfully cute, bite-sized versions of mandarin oranges), the everything. Mm yeah.

It would be great to be able to stay longer, but we've gotta make do with what we have.

Physics was awesome today. Mr Wong owns, man. He keeps referring to Ryan as the future President of Hong Kong (which may or may not happen, more likely not, but who knows?), and that's just epic.

Did some kinematics stuff, and some weird mock MCQ quiz.

And yes, the answer is always either 'C' or "jirou". (I kid, but it's funnier that way.)

Went to the lab for Chem. Managed to survive two hours of going through our prac, ionisation energy and electron affinity without falling asleep.

Math somehow sped past, although I can't really remember anything(something about numbers, I think. Oh yeah, definitely).

Study time verdict: KT is pro, man.
He's like, "Kyeong is pro," and "Chenglei is pro," (this China guy we were trying to hook MJ up with) then "Joshua (Park) is pro" for strange reasons. I don't know what his definition of pro is, but I'm thinking something along the lines of "dudes who get all the chicks of their nationality or something like that". I'm not exactly sure, it's just a theory.

Then he started calling Insan pro for "doing Math", so I'm a bit confused at the moment. (He later changed his mind though. Now it's "Insan's a failure".)

But seriously though, KT is funneh.

It's been seriously humid lately. Don't like it. Should rain more often.

I miss Brunei rain. The ones that last an entire day and still have some to spare the following day. When it rains back home, it doesn't smell all funny. I love Brunei rain.

Heck, it hardly rains here.

No fun.

Okay, better go now. Have clothes to fold, and LotR to read.

Arrivederci.

P.S. No, I am not a guy.

Monday, February 08, 2010

I quit.

A lot of people are like, obsessed with Glee right now.

And that's not surprising at all.

That's 'cause Glee is good. Oh hell yeah it is. Great cast, great songs, great plot. Mm yeah.

The internet connection is acting really gay right now, and I can't stand it. Seriously annoying. It's like you need to do things, but it just won't let you. Sad.

It's the fifth night of our pertaruhan yang bodoh, and I'm quitting. I kid you not. Yes, I quit. Now everybody's commenting on my status (I can tell 'cause hotmail keeps popping up telling me "1 message received"), telling me how I epic failed and am going to suffer an epic forfeit.

I don't mind, actually. Isn't that where the fun comes in?

I sure hope they don't make me do something beyond my limit of stupidity though. Hmm.

Had to write some things about "School hours should be shorter. Discuss," during English today.

Personally, I don't think school hours should be shorter. I think there should be less school days. If I were to go to school, I'd rather do it all day, then have more days where I don't have to show up at all. I'd like to wake up later, thank you very much.

Watched this documentary on the Channeled Scablands during Geog today. Had to stop halfway during an epic cliffhanger (literally. There was this guy with a pickaxe chipping off the side of a massive glacier in Iceland), 'cause Ms Chua's laptop ran out of battery.

So sad.

It was actually quite interesting (don't let my constant nodding off to sleep deceive you).

Speaking of sleep, I'm feeling rather sleepy right now, so better be off.

Adieu.

P.S. I ain't scared of no forfeit. Bring it ON. (Does it make me sound like I have no shame? I'm not shameless though.)

P.P.S. Yeah, I totally plagiarised Ghostbusters in my last postscript.

'I See You' -Leona Lewis

Listening to the Glee version of 'Endless Love' now.

They sang it earlier on during Swine- I mean, Shine, that singing competition for hostel people that was sorta disappointing.

I won't say much, but yeah, it wasn't really up to the standard I was expecting. I was hoping for more, you know, but too bad.

Parts of it were fun though.

Was at Music Room A this morning with Fatinn and Woan Chyi. Played around with Fatinn's new external speaker, which is pretty awesome compared to its size. Cute little thing, big sound.

I haven't played or listened to certain songs in a long time, and doing that just brings a lot back to mind. It's not surprising at all, really. All the practice sessions we go through, and all the sights and sounds and emotions that go along with them. I miss the old days.

Realised I lost my Math assignment paper when I got back. Where could it have gone? That's just weird. I swear I had it. Wanted to start today (knowing I'm completely atrocious at Math), but bleh, plans got screwed.

Went out with Woan Chyi later on in the afternoon. Started raining right after we stepped out of the school gates, so we decided to take the bus instead of walk (yes, in fact we do like to burn calories once in a while).

Checked out some things at Popular, then ate at Swensen's (I owed her pizza, 'cause I still haven't finished reading LotR). Mmm, calories. Calories taste good. The excuse is that I have PE tomorrow, but PE is never sufficient exercise. Too bad.

Came back in time for Shine. Still haven't quite gotten over the disappointment yet (it's not the results, rather the quality). But I can't sing, so I'm not in any place to say anything like that or people will start complaining (Simon Cowell is one of those exceptions though. I wish I could replace him in AI. If anyone from Fox ever reads this, please? I'll do a good job, I swear).

Okay, going off now. Back to Gondor and orc-slaying. Wootz.

P.S. Aragorn has skillz. That's why he gets all the chicks.

P.P.S. MH fail. :(

P.P.P.S. Hey, that's the first emoticon I've posted in ages. Cool.

Skullcandy.

I'm in an exceedingly good mood now.

Currently trying out my new earphones. Was at HMV earlier on with Fatinn, Wardah and Emily, 'cause Fatinn needed new earphones (the interesting thing was that we all decided on which ones to buy before she did).

I got tempted by this pair. They're hella good. Significantly cheaper than all the other Skullcandy earphones and headphones, too. I love these earphones 'cause the bass is good and strong, and I can hear everything as clear as crystal (or at least clearer than my previous pair). Oh, and they look seriously cool, too. Sleek and black and skulled. (Hey, just realised they'll match my awesome hat. Nice.)

Went out to auntie Mal's house this afternoon at Orchard for some gathering/party thing. Had candy floss (sweet), played Uno, watched people karaoke, ate, and basically lazed our Saturday away.

Come to think of it, where did all those hours go? Hmm.

Decided to follow the seniors around to jalan some more after that, 'cause as Emily says, "Bini-bini suka jalan", and I had nothing better to do anyway.

Somerset 313 is cool. Great building design.

Shar's pretty envious of me now, 'cause she's been wanting to go there ever since it opened, and she's stuck in Brunei.

Speaking of Brunei, CNY is in a week, and I'mma go back home for it. I met Viet Anh the other day, and she was telling me about how an unusually large number of foreigners were going back for CNY this year. I think it's 'cause of the great timing, 'cause it's right over the weekend, so we get a continuous five days off, and the first three days of Chinese New Year.

But I digress. We walked around the place a bit, got new earphones, checked out a few shops, then went back.

Should go there again sometime.

We received our National Day dinner invites today. They addressed me as "Awang" again, which is pretty epic. It's been a year, and they still haven't realised I'm not a guy. I wonder what'll happen next year. Maybe I'll perpetually be "Awang" in the eyes of the Brunei High Comm in Singapore. Interesting.

Okay, going to bed now. Need to get a few things done tomorrow.

Night.

P.S. My tagboard is like, dead. Go and say hi or something, and feed the rabbit too while you're at it (it goes "crunch"). Thanks.

P.P.S. Oh, and something of extremely EPIC proportions happened today. Faiz is going to be ever so jealous of me.

Facebook fail.

Term 1 week 5 is over, and I starting to think we've gotten some pretty awesome teachers.

We told our Physics teacher that our Math teacher told us "your mum is a woman", and he went, "That's not necessarily the case. I can show you a video."

It's entirely epic. Mr Wong is all about showing us seriously random videos in class just for the sake of it (and somehow relating them to Physics), but honestly, what video? The one about the pregnant man? The woman who had a sex change but decided to keep her uterus so she could have babies 'cause her wife wasn't able to? I wonder.

I like Physics. (Which doesn't mean I'm good at it. I just like it. Makes more sense than Chem, at least.)

Thought we were going to finally get some things done during CCA today, but apparently the video files were in some weird format, so we couldn't import them into iMovie.

Gave up eventually (and ended up watching TMNT with the new people). The photo group (excluding a bunch of Year 2s who were too lazy to go) went off on some field trip somewhere.

Hopefully we get the video files sorted out soon, 'cause I don't want us to seem lazy and unproductive.

It's the third day of our bet, and nobody's forgotten to tag yet. I'm starting to have doubts. This may last for a long, long time, man.

Spent my Friday night reading LotR. I've got a hundred and seventy pages to go as of this moment. I love all the epic scenes, like the one where Éowyn goes, "But no living man am I!" and stabs King of the Nâzgul in the face (now that's what I call "in your face". Literally).

All right, going back to Gondor now.

P.S. Aragorn FTW. Still.

P.P.S. It's funny how people mistake me for being in the choir or orchestra just 'cause we wear black shirts for Media too. (I'm actually cool with that. Managed to sneak away a slice of pizza from the choir dressed like that.)

P.P.P.S. The answer to the Physics prac question "Give two reasons for the difference between your results and the theoretical value" is pretty simple. One: Inaccuracy. Two: Retardation.

"Your mum is a woman."

I've definitely said this before, but I'll say it again: The internet connection here is faulty.

Okay, I'm over it now.

It's the second day of the pertaruhan yang bodoh II, and it's going pretty well, I have to admit. Nobody's quitting yet. So far.

Actually did something during study time today, albeit very little. Managed to finish off Physics ass. 2, thanks to Kelvin. It takes a pretty long time for my brain to boot up, then there's the processing and functioning and all that jazz.

Speaking of functions, our Math teacher said a very interesting thing in class today. He was in the middle of talking about functions, when he went, "Putting x < ∞ is like saying... your mum is a woman."

Then we all just stared at him for a second or two before laughing our asses off. Wow, how is he so sure my mum's a woman? (Mum, if you're reading this, you know I'm kidding. I do know for a fact that you're a woman.)

Now that was seriously epic.

Did angiosperms and endosperms in Bio. Ryan extended our "ten minute break" to at least twenty by engaging Mr Lee in a long discussion about the proper use of the term 'bryophyte' in taxonomy. Thank you Ryan.

I like Geog class. It's fun. Ms Chua apparently thinks our class is "very good", 'cause we like to disagree with almost everything everybody else says, and talk about a certain matter for like, ages. In short (pun not intended) be extremely longwinded.

And we're kinda lame too, at times. I don't know how she puts up with us, not to mention like us.

Better go off now. Feeling rather sleepy.

Night.

Pertaruhan yang bodoh II.

To be honest with you, I was feeling quite depressed earlier on.

Muse is performing in Singapore tonight, and I'm stuck here. I'm pretty okay with that now, I guess. It's not like they won't be coming ever again, right?

Though it does feel kinda awful knowing I'm missing out on some Muse awesomeness. But what to do?

It's near midnight as I type this. Cool.

There's nothing much worth talking about during school today, 'cept during our non-existent Malay class when we made another stupidly ridiculous bet.

Rules are pretty simple, but full of loopholes. I don't intend to cheat though, it's more fun to do it the proper way (and not cheat, unlike some people, who cheated).

And what makes this thing fun is that it's a mass thing. We've got at least seven or eight people playing (which is sorta epic).

I can't say much here, 'cause that's not allowed. But it is awesome, and I'll tell you that.

Was extremely unproductive during study time tonight. In fact, the most unproductive we've ever been.

Spent our time talking about exceedingly random things, like India, racism, temples in India, our confusing Geog notes (the slides jump everywhere and hardly make sense), traffic in India, our ridiculous bet, K.T. chasing buses in India, teachers, cheap Indian cars that catch fire from time to time, height, average height amongst Indians, how you get all the ladies if you're a Korean guy, the Taj Mahal, et cetera et cetera.

Managed to get past the eight hundredth page of LotR this afternoon. Mm yeah. Aragorn still owns.

Okay, going off now.

Adieu.

P.S. Racist communities are failed.

The Ball of Wisdom.

Oh my gee.

I think I might be addicted to making stupid bets.

Agreed to make another one with Insan and Faiz tomorrow during our "non-existent" Malay class tomorrow.

We'll see how that turns out. Should be fun, if not ridiculously retarded like the one we did recently (seriously flawed, man).

The internet connection is so problematic, we've actually kinda gotten used to it by now. I mean, give us a month of "the server is not responding" and perpetual "loading..."s, and we'll learn to get by.

Not that I'm saying that I'm okay with it. We've kinda given up complaining about it, but that doesn't mean the problem's solved. It's still terribly annoying when you need to (for example) Google things in a hurry and it takes absolutely ages to load.

Physics was in the lab this morning. Best practical ever. Small metal ball launching FTW.

Paired up with Verena again (although we were supposed to do it in groups of four. 305 counting fail).

Anyway, we pretty much spent our time firing said small metal balls into sandboxes and measuring the range of the angles and stuff like that. In the end we all got sick of recording data and piled the sand into mounds and tried to "destroy" them. Epic fun. Now that's called retardation.

Still need to draw my graph though.

Got our Chem quiz back. I passed (luckily).

Accompanied MJ to Marina Square after school (she was sorta desperate to get new headphones). Had Subway for lunch/dinner/whichever, 'cause I was like, starving.

Came back and craptalked our way through study time (as usual). Managed to almost finish my Physics prac and did half a question for our Physics assignment. Talk about not being productive.

Need to go read LotR now.

Adieu.

Pertaruhan yang bodoh.

Listening to the Glee soundtrack now, courtesy of Kelvin.

Mm yeah.

All right, I wasn't going to do it, but I'll do it anyway. Just can't resist. Here goes: It's the first day of February today.

There. I said it. I pointed out the blindingly obvious. Now I can't help it but go on to how time goes by so freakishly fast 'cause it seemed like 2010 just started blah blah ohmyGee2012iscomingsoonwe'realldoomedholymotherofchickenthisisscrewed blah blah you get the drift.

Woke up super sleepy and tired this morning. Somehow managed to survive mentoring, English, PE (2.4 included), Malay and Geog before coming back and sleeping my afternoon away.

The highlight of my day is that ridiculous bet I made with Faiz. Apparently we both lost, initially, then both won. It's a long complicated paradox-ish bet. But it is funny, I'll give it that. We'll see how we do our forfeits tomorrow.

Life would be so dull without reckless, stupid bets. It's fun that way.

Speaking of bets, I lost mine with Woan Chyi, and now I owe her pizza. January's over, and I still haven't finished reading LotR. It's taking me absolutely ages, 'cause I hardly touch it any more.

Need to read.

Oh yeah.

I'll do it tonight then.

So better go off now. Back to Gondor.

Night.

P.S. If Faiz doesn't do his part of the bet tomorrow, we'll all be severely disappointed. I hope he does it.

P.P.S. We waited at least twenty minutes for rice during dinner today. Lucky I had Woan Chyi with me, or I'd be standing there stubbornly like an idiot alone.
