Failed.

I passed my 2.4!

I've got thirty-five minutes until Study Time is over. I forgot to bring my English down so we can't write about the husband of this woman called Mary Maloney in a story written by Roald Dahl.

I'm being very quiet, for once. You see, I think Kelvin's sick, and Hyeon Kyeong's sitting somewhere else so he can charge his laptop, Chang Yoon is with Jung Min and I haven't seen Insan since the 2.4 run/walk.

Ivanka is sitting at the same table as me. It's like a mini MacBook convention. One table two MacBooks. It's pretty cool. And since Ivanka is such a hardworking person, I'm stuck here slacking by myself.

I have no motivation whatsoever to do any homework.

I'm tired, my neck is super sore now and I just want to fall asleep.

I dislike homework. Immensely.

Ms Tay (Music teacher) was telling us just now how it was compulsory for all the Music students to attend the school's concert. Meh.
We learned about twentieth century music in class this afternoon. It was pretty cool. Ms Tay played a few songs that made us cringe, but some actually sounded good to me. Like, a dreamy, carefree, jazzy feeling.

Gamelan and Choir performed today.

Sorry to say, the MS choir last year and the years before were the best. MS Choir kicked arse, man.

Like, nothing and nobody could beat them.

Actually, I kind of miss Mr Meer.
And all the other teachers.
And the fishies in the pond.
And the teacher's cafe.
And the canteen.
And the jambans.
And the R-ians and MYBs.

I miss you guys sooo much.

School isn't the same and never will be the same without you guys.

It's the people that make the difference.

Faith in Ferrari.

Time for a quick proper (one with actual words) post before bed.

My fingers hurt now. Feyra and I are joining the Talentsearch thing. Auditions are Wednesday afternoon. Wish us luck. We're doing 'Broken Strings' by James Morrison.

Neko, if you want to find another guitarist to perform on stage with you that's fine by me, 'cause as far as I know we'll always have to be stuck with each other in the end. Do not let any chances slip past you 'cause you might regret it. Full potential, yo.

NUSH Music Week has started. I hardly know what's going on, but I'm on duty to video the rehearsal on Wednesday and Friday concert by our orchestra. As long as I show up, it wouldn't be a problem.

Hey wait a minute. I just realised something. Does that mean I don't have to pay ten dollars for a ticket to watch the concert? Hahah cool.

The whole cluster had pizza for dinner tonight, to celebrate the March birthdays. Whee. We went all the way to the Pizza Hut at Jurong Point when we could've just stayed and ordered from the hostel. But what fun is there in that? If we did that we wouldn't have been able to skip Study Time (in your face, guys).

Pizza goood. Pic of cake will come when I upload pics.

I felt super sleepy this morning. I fell asleep during BM while Cikgu Isa was out. I don't think he even cares.

Also, I learned that our Bio teacher is afraid of cockroaches. Apparently, she'll fail us immediately if she sees any of them in our terrarium.

NAPFA is tomorrow. (Link is for clueless Bruneians.) Need to sleep for energy for the 2.4 km jog/walk. Though I doubt I'll be very much awake after Geography.

Ms Queenie made us walk from the Clementi MRT station to the hostel in order to train for it. A bit too late, don't you think? But exercise is always good for you.

Oh, and I bought two new books the other day.

Mum, if you're reading this please don't kill me for overbuying books. Thanks. Love you too.

Adieu.

P.S. Still getting over the fact that Ferrari couldn't even finish yesterday's race. I feel sooooooo depressed. *sigh*

Post yang panjang.

Warning: Ultra long post coming up. If you wish to preserve your eyesight a little longer, please do NOT read.

For those who dare risk it...
...welcome to Bukit Batok Nature Park.
Mushrooms.
Followed Cheryl to Bukit Batok in her dad's car. There, we waited for Rania, MJ and when they came, waited for Ivy while watching little fishies struggle against the current with Rania.
Check out the awesome sign.
Rania's "squirrel". Turned out to be better. And we did get to see squirrels later on.
Pics uploaded as promised to my uncle.

The next day was Ivanka's birthday. Watched 'Race to Witch Mountain' at Vivo. Was a bit meh-ish. Wardah and I bought her a doggy and it stole my Ferrari cap. Bad doggy. Bad, bad, doggy.
Yeah, you must be wondering why I took a picture of the words "ugly butt". I wonder too, actually.
This is the real sign. Talk about weird sign day.
Nicholas being manly. *cough*
Thu, Ly En and Ivanka on the Sentosa skyride.
Man, it was super cool. Check out the view.
Revenge for posting my pic, Wardah.
Pretty.
Prettier. This is the beach we went to after the luge. The luge was awesome, man. And super addictive. I need to go on it again. The speed, the exhilaration. If you're super sakai like me, you can google it. Sentosa luge and skyride.
Luge! (That's what it says on our hands.)
And finally, Ivanka in the weird, "obscene" balloon hat they bought for her. Poor Iv had to wear it all night long and wasn't allowed to take it of.

End of epic-ly long post.

Santa on a bike.

Since I'm a stubborn a-hole and want to stay awake to celebrate the weekend (albeit filled to the brim with work and journals) and end of tests whilst torturing my eyeballs in the process, I've decided to blog.

I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever want to see my Geography paper again.

Ms Lau (our mentor teacher. It's like form teacher) came to school today and brought her baby. So cuuuute. Adorable little thing.
Oh, and pictures of the cupcakes will come soon.

After a very meh-ish Chemistry practical-thing, we had nothing for Math 'cause our teacher was at some place doing some thing. Which meant we had a lot of time to waste and sort of start on our Math 3D model on symmetry. So far, it looks like a piece of junk (won't say crap) that someone threw out of their window, run over by a car and chewed on by dogs.

CCA was pretty weird. Our photography workshop started, and the guy made us take pictures which represented The Incredibles' powers. Yeah, you must be thinking, what on earth?
Well, so did I. But it turned out pretty fun.

Oh, and we weren't allowed to use our awesome camera phones 'cause apparently we wouldn't be able to transfer our pictures to the lady's MacBook Pro.
Pfft. I always transfer my pics through bluetooth. No biggie.

After we were dismissed (we were almost kicked out of the library earlier 'cause we stayed past closing time what with the Common Tests pushing classes an hour forward and all), I rushed through a shower and met Ivanka in the canteen.

Had dinner then walked to the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music to watch a violin recital by Zuo Jun. Free admission, yo.

It was so super uber terribly extremely awesome. 'Specially the little Chinese number they did as an encore at the end.

At the entrance beforehand, while queuing for our tickets, we made way for a guy wheeling his bike through the place. I looked at Ivanka. None of us had ever seen someone wheeling a bicycle indoors before.

Later on, second half of the recital (after a great performance of Paganini's Caprice No. 23 and 24), Mr Zuo Jun came back onstage followed by a man. I looked at him. Ivanka nudged me. "Hey," she said, "It's him? The bike guy!"

How cool was that?

Oh, and he looks a lot like Santa.

Once again, pictures are promised.

Adieu.

A title.

I shouldn't slack, I know, but you see, I honestly can't stand Geography.

Also, I honestly can't say I'll be free when Common Tests are over (which is tomorrow). 'Cause we've got to visit somewhere for our Bio ecosystem thing, write the report, build a thing for our Maths task II, write the group report and individual reflections, write Chem journal thing, do Geography projects, the To Kill a Mockingbird review thing for English, attend a (classical) concert (or two, actually), and et cetera et cetera before April is up.

People should stop giving me titles. Rania has started calling me "elegant clean-freak lame smart-ass Ya Wen", for reasons unknown.
It isn't half as weird as Stel's "gay sex-change drag-queen miss america bruneian scholar" though. But that's Stella for you.

About the tests?

Well. Recap.

English was a summary, comprehension will come sometime in the vicinity of next week.

Malay was pretty simple, though the "gelagat" bit killed it.

Math was gay.

Bio wasn't bad.

Chem wasn't brilliant.

Physics was gayer than Math.

And Geography? Who knows.
At this rate, I'd probably flunk it.

Come on, let's go fail Geo now.

P.S. 'Broken Strings' by James Morrison is good. I want to play it.

What ASSignment 4?

Wahai "anak-anak". Saya ni cikgu H tau? Kamu rindu cikgu tak?

Hah. I do. I miss ALL the teachers. Seriously.

Yo guyyyyss. Kem Qiadah siuk kah? Aku kan informal ni. Informal berabis. Kan? Malay oral ku epic fail.
Kebanyakan orang S'pore mana tau baca ani. Sebab dorang inda payah di-torture cam orang Brunei. But we love our national language, don't we? Don't we?

*ahem*

So, Maths test wasn't bad at all, except I seriously messed up a question because I didn't "show my method clearly". All I did was take my ruler and move it about while trying to keep it parallel. I could write that as my method, but I think our Math teacher would kill me.

Bio test actually didn't suck. I did the structured questions first, then the MCQ, 'cause I don't like MCQ.

As for Study Time (first session after the holidays), here are the important points to be noted and pointed out:

- We get reminded to not make too much noise almost every study time. Aren't we great? I don't know whether to be proud or ashamed.

- Chang Yoon studies faster than all of us combined and then initiated a "talk about completely irrelevant topics and debate unnecessarily" session.

- Kelvin and Insan talk a lot. And Hyeon Kyeong stayed very quiet and pretended to study Bio.

- We placed bets on whether Ivanka was going to sit with us on the ridiculously small tables. She didn't.

- We also placed bets on whether Chang Yoon was going to sit with us. He did. Kyeong and Insan lost the bet.

- Zeus was promiscuous. We know.

- And Thor was Norse.

Now I'm going to go and revise Chem. Me no likey.

It's gonna suck, I can feel it.

Btw, I am out of credit. So I apologise for any rudeness (or assumed rudeness) if I don't reply your messages. Zhen Jie, thanks. I told her I handed it in too, but she still claims I didn't but will check.

It's bleeding gums, Leona.

This website is beginning to grow on me. Check it out.

I seem to have forgotten to tell you guys I visited a dentist on Friday. It was horrible.

The guy seemed nice, explained everything (mostly) to me, told me he was going to clean my teeth then seal one of my molars, and reseal the other (meaning he intended to drill out my previous seal and fill it in again).

Okay, I thought. No problem. No biggie.

Man, I was wrong.

After the dentist dude had discovered a slight, small decay after he drilled out the seal and given me very unpleasant experiences, I spat out loads of blood and went to consult a mirror.
I looked like some zombie from Night of the Living Dead. All my gums were bleeding and there was blood in between all of my teeth.

Ouch? Ouch.

MS dudes are having Kem Qiadah now. Give you guys a little taste of what it feels like to live at school away from home. But it's only for four days. And no homework.
Oh well.

There's an assembly tonight. Probably to welcome all of us back to this hell-hole- I mean, uh, school.

Need to shower and then draw more triangles, if possible.

Then I should probably study Bio as well...

...Meh.

'Name' -Goo Goo Dolls

It's a tough job, resisting the Facebook craze.

No, I shall not succumb to peer pressure.
No, I shall not create a Facebook account.
No, I shall procrastinate no more. Facebook will eat up all my time, I can feel it.

So, if I ever create an account, sue me.

All righty, down to business.

I'm back here in Singapore, and I'm already missing the toilet paper back home. Oh, and the television too. I miss Astro. I got to watch American Idol for a few hours, which was kind of a bonus since I managed to catch it last Saturday morning when I was home alone and was looking for something to do (then I realised I could watch television *insert grinning smiley face*).

I believe Stella is currently uploading pictures of our Excapade lunch on Facebook. Bleh. Facebook.

Must...do...revision! And study....pointless facts!

Noooo.....!

June, come soon please.

P.S. What on earth is flavoured lip balm for?

Sony Ericsson C902

Taken with my great new camera phone.

Isaac's birthday cake. Apparently Thomas the Tank Engine's name was too long, so they had to give him an unofficial name change.
Birthday boy Isaac in blurred pic. He doesn't remember me anymore.
Birthday boy Isaac's big brother Nathan on the right and my brother on the left in the jersey I bought 'im. Fortunately these two do remember me.

Baby Alyssa with her humongous eyes.

Nate enjoying cake. Yum.

*Cough dating cough* I'm in so much trouble for taking this.

Murtabakk!!!

MYBs from left to right: Fazrul (monkey boy who's in Singapore right now), Wani (in pink...), Neko (my neighbour/ex-classmate/ex-bus-mate/whatever else), Naimah (fellow "endangered species" filmer), and Myra (who is also in pink).

Half of the gang couldn't make it, and I also met up with Baoxin, Sil Suan and Steph.

I miss you guysss.

Aching familiarity.

All righty, who's been missing my posts, please raise your hand.

Yeah, I can't believe I haven't posted for a week, but I've been putting off this blogging thing 'cause I've been occupied to a most severe level.

So, between here and then, I managed to:

- Get a new phone, courtesy of my uncle and his credit card (though my dad paid for it afterwards). It's a C902, google it if you have to.

- Go out with Shar, Manda and Stella (SAS cream of the crop). Took loads of time finishing off lunch at Excapade and later watched 'Watchmen'. Manda and Stel wouldn't shut up. I had half a mind to move to another seat (incredibly empty theatre). For a three-hour long movie, I probably only started to comprehend the story line two hours in, and the soundtrack was good. Also, Stella calls me "gay sex-change drag-queen miss america bruneian scholar" now. I'm not even going to bother putting capital letters there.

- Have murtabak with Neko, Wani, Myra, Naimah and Fazrul at CA Muhammad. Yum. Murtabak gooood. Oh, and we visited the arcade (what on earth happened to the chicken restaurant I like to laugh at?), stalked someone while someone dated someone else, and looked at caps with Neko. I love headwear.

- Procrastinate a lot.

- Attend Isaac's first birthday party. Pics will come soon.

- Not be able to go to MS. I want to but I can't. Sorry guys. June will come soon.

- Realise that I really do love Astro.

- Also realise that common tests are in very few days. I can predict my imminent doom from here.

Peace out.

Cream.

It's 11 p.m and my nose is sending my uncomfortable pangs because I tried to wash cream out of it with soap, and then the soap with water, and now the water's up my nose and it feels like one of my first swimming lessons. (This whole sentence plainly means "I've got water up my nose; I don't like it".)

Since you might be wondering why on earth I would go stuffing cream up my nose, I didn't.

Long story short, we planned a surprise birthday celebration for Feyra (our senior), hid in the bushes next to the canteen and then waited for Jung Min to chase after her with a can of whatchamacallit-novelty-spray with the strands of long, neon pink, probably-synthetic material.
Then we ate the cupcakes Emily bought (remind me to pay her four dollars) and smeared cream all over each other.

Which brings us back to me looking like someone shoved an entire cake into my face (actually, Jung Min took a whole blob [I just said "blob". Ha ha.] of cream and smeared it on my face.
I went back with cream in my eyes, my nose, my ears, and miraculously not my mouth.

Nobody was spared from the wrath of the creamed cupcakes.

Now I'm really sleepy and need to finish off my English draft 2 and fold my clothes and pack for my flight tomorrow.

Oh, and read Pride and Prejudice.

P.S. Happy b'day to Khairul Sadeq as well. Have fun being a year older.

Soul Eater.

I'm awfully envious of this uncle of mine right now. Not only does he share a birthdate with Beethoven(, Ludwig van), he shares a birthdate with Jane Austen as well.

His reaction went like this:

johnson says:
wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i lacked enthusiasm the lasst time
so i am making up for it
WOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
isn't she the pride and prejudice woman

Exact words, good people. I kid you not.

Oh, and he's staying at the Hyatt this Sunday for God-knows-what. Lucky. And he's visiting NUSH.

I managed to reduced my astounding 97 hours to a 96.6 seconds this evening when I decided to finally take a look at my Physics assignment 3 since last week.

After our flag-raising this morning, we went to this classroom on the first floor to sit for our Malay common test. Obviously we had to sit, 'cause I've never seen anybody standing during a test (or any examination paper whatsoever).
Apparently all the people who take Malay in the entire school can fit into one classroom with an extra table to spare. Talk about a small population.

As for the test itself, it wasn't so bad, apart from the fact that I didn't know what on earth "gelagat" meant. Now I know it either means "actions" or "signs of something that's going to happen", according to my dictionary.

Our table in the library is still missing, and so were the guys from 7A (actually they went for a cluster outing and got to skip Study time). So Ivanka and I (Chang Yoon, Insan, Kelvin and Hyeon Kyeong were being forced to have Thai food at the time) sat with Wardah and Nicholas and his roommate/toiletmates.

I've discovered that I don't like being labeled "scholar". Not only does the name sound terribly out-of-date, it makes people think you're some super genius and they label you as "never a toe out of line, that one". You know what I mean, don't you?

Which means if you do anything wrong, albeit a teeny-weeny, eensy-weensy (spider) bit, they think you've just committed murder of polar bears, assassination of one or a few very important people, global warming, and smuggled chewing gum into class, all at the same time.

Look, I don't like being labeled. I repeat: I don't like being labeled.

So don't do it.

We're still human.

P.S. I finished Soul Eater today. Yum.

Warped days.

Tomorrow's Thursday. After Thursday comes Wednesday. And after Wednesday comes Friday.

It's true.

You see, since most students (like me) base their days of the week on what lessons they have that day, tomorrow becomes Thursday because they flipped the days around to accommodate the common tests.

Let me divide my day into what sucked and what didn't ('cause I can't be bothered to type it all out in sentences.)

What sucked:

- My Music presentation.

- My 2.4 km timing.

- My Geog assignment.

- The internet. It's still as slow as ever and even thinking about loading YouTube videos makes me want to cry.

- Nothing else here, I think.

What didn't suck:

- Spent almost all of Study Time telling lame jokes and discussing dumb Math equations because our usual table was missing (somehow, mysteriously) and we sat at the little round tables at the side (too lazy to move).

- English was fun, Alvin Lin showed us a magic trick (a few, actually, but the first two were phonies).

- No homework due tomorrow.

All right, time for a tag survey thing from Myra.

so. what do you think of school?
Right now? I despise it.

mhm. which class do you hate the most?
I don't hate any classes. They're all pretty much equal in terms of awfulness.

has there ever been a fire at your school?
I don't know, but our fire alarms seem to think they happen all the time.

which class do you zone out the most in?
Geography? Either that or Physics.

how big is your school?
Probably not as big as MS.

what kind of kids go there?
Won't say.

what do you have 3rd period?
Since tomorrow is with Thursday's agenda, Math.

have you ever cried at school?
No.

how are the dances there?
Don't know.

are you involved in any sports?
No.

do you take the bus?
Used to. I miss it. Now I walk.

do you take coffee with you to school?
No, I buy it at school.

i take monster with me most often.
Well good for you.

are you bored yet?
Definitely. Thanks for noticing.

have you ever actually fallen asleep in school?
Obviously, yes. I'm still human, you know.

do you ever use your locker?
Don't have one.

does your cafeteria smell like weird cheese?
Thank God, no.

how's the food there?
It depends.

have you ever met your principal?
Yeah.

have you ever thrown up at school?
No, and never, I hope.

ever hooked up in one of the bathrooms?
That would probably one of the last places to do that.

are there any goth/emo kids at your school?
I don't think so.

are you one of them?
Yeah. Not.

how are the guys/girls? decent?
Yeah, I s'pose.

how much homework do you get a night?
Night time is for doing homework. Day time is when you get them. When you get them, loads.

how often do you have fire drills?
I've never had one yet. So far.

do your teachers get mad when you text in class?
Not if they don't see you.

do you ever have dreams about school?
Yeah, strangely. I call them "nightmares".

i'm sorry.
So you are.

are you dating someone who goes to your school?
Nope.

what grade are you in?
Year 2?

are you excited to graduate?
Graduation is far, far away.

have you ever fallen off your chair?
At school, or what? You should at least be more specific.

are you friends with the jocks?
I don't know the answer to that question.

are there a lot of cliques?
I don't know the answer to that question either.

is high school overrated or under-rated?
Hey, guess what? I don't know the answer to this question either.

are you tired?
Yeah...

of course you are. it's a school night. right?
Yes. Congratulations.

high school sucks. no?
At this point, yes.

...Oh all right, a bit then.

Mothercare.

It's official. Desperate salespeople freak me out.

I bet they hadn't made a sale all day when they approached Syafiqah and I.
"Excuse me, will you smell this? No, please, pleeeease, just smell this! Smell this, please! Please...!"
"Would you be interested it- no please, just one second. One second. Please..."

You get the drift.

Stupid internet. Stupid workload. I want to go to bed, but I'm stuck here doing my BM puisi powerpoint presentation.

I chose Chopin's prelude in C minor 'cause I'm dedicating my poem to him anyway.

So people, if you see my sign off suddenly, I'm not being rude, it's just that the internet connection is terrible. Has been terrible lately. Don't know when it'll recover, but hopefully soon.

Oh, and I still can't get my triangle to look right.

My ruler must have something against me.

$2,200 pen?

I just realised I've stopped updating daily. Lately.

Last night, I followed Feyra, Fatinn and Jung Min out to City Hall 'cause Feyra was lanja-ing us Bruneians (plus Jung Min) to dinner at Seoul Garden (for her birthday).

I've missed the sights and smells of large shopping centers. You know, the ones with all the branded clothes and non-pirated DVDs.

Stopped by two bookshops, bought four books. Which is an average of two books per bookshop, which isn't the case here.
I bought three ('Watership Down' by Richard Adams, a story about rabbits, Soul Eater by Michelle Paver, the one I've been wanting to get my hands on for a few days now, and 'The Kite Runner' by Khaled Hosseini, which Jung Min made me buy 'cause he said, "When I read that book I feel like I want to cry") initially, then decided to buy Pride and Prejudice from the latter bookshop we visited (since we had to wait for a table at Seoul Garden anyway).

One good thing about living in Singapore is that there are so much more books for sale than back home.

Seoul Garden had good food. Thank you Emily, for cooking for us.

For people who are as sakai as me, Seoul Garden's like a steamboat thing, except you can grill your food as well on this thing in the centre of the table.

Thanks for the dinner, Feyra.

I'm going to go do my laundry now.

Adieu.

Dubito, corgito, ergo sum?

I'm sitting here, my iTunes on shuffle, my roommate out for the night.

Ivanka's got homework.

I couldn't be bothered to interrupt Chang Yoon and Insan from their gaming to ask them to go to one of the Music rooms.

I think Wardah's out as well, at the airport sending off one of our seniors.

But I'm content to listen to my ever-expanding collection of songs and I'm currently trying to put off my BM puisi. Which I'm currently succeeding at, by the way. I've got one verse out of four so far.

I honestly need to get a new book. Cyrus wondered if I wore contact lenses the other day. I told him no, because I didn't need to even though my eyesight required me to. (Yeah, I'm bringing up the left eye short-sighted right eye long-sighted both with astigmatism story again.)
I'm addicted to reading. I want to buy 'Soul Eater', sequel to 'Spirit Walker', sequel to 'Wolf Brother'. Why? Because it be addictive and awesome.

TMNT trailer is coming along nicely. We've actually made it quite smooth now, with all those extra transitions and songs and random clips popping in here and there.
Great start, awesome ending, messed up middle. Do you think anyone would notice?

I like CCA.

And my titration skills are terrible.

I actually managed to finish the Chemistry pop quiz. 'Corgito ergo sum' is actually Latin for "I think, therefore I am", coined by French Mathematician and philosopher, René Descartes.
It probably has nothing to do with Chemistry and was just there to make the question sound fancy.

I think I'm going to go to bed now.

Good night.

Yellow chair!

I realised I have a fear. A fear of dying alone and estranged, with no family, no friends and no 27 cats either (yes, Stella, I'm talking to you).

Maksim Mrvica is still epic. Epic, I tell you, epic. Even Ivanka has picked up my bad habit of saying "epic!" whenever his name is mentioned. Epic.

Every once in a while I have to say this: Spammers, stop trying to sell me Viagra. It's not decent. Thank you.

I know my Physics assignment is wrong because it definitely does not take 97 hours for water to reach 30ºC from 0ºC.

I think there was something else I wanted to write about here, but I can't recall.

Oh well.

I finished The Fire Thief today. It was good and funny and light, you know, like... like, I don't know.

I'm tired and sleepy and I'll leave this post here for the day.

P.S. I love rain.

Tuesday, March 03, 2009

Epic-ly awesome.

Would you believe me if I told you that we here still experience the effects of World War II?

If you don't, too bad, 'cause it just helped us skip classes.

I even bought coffee to keep me awake for the Geo documentary our teacher was going to show us (the one with the guy and his accent).

But no, there was an announcement right before Geography started. "...proceed to the hall...*couldn't hear much, too noisy*...all students...", the announcement said. All right. So we "proceed"-ed to the hall, where much turmoil was taking place. Teachers were yelling at students who were yelling at each other to be heard over the noise. We all wondered one thing, "What the hell was going on?"

This disorderly and highly unorganised mess delayed our answer for too long. We pondered, puzzled over, contemplated, and wondered until a guy from the police station addressed us.

The whole explanation could be summed up to two words: "War relic".

Oh hell awesome. So epic-ly awesome.

Apparently the school management was afraid our (probably not mine, they're too far away) parents would be afraid of our safety, being stuck in a school at least half a kilometre away from the construction site where they found the "war relic", you know.

Long story short, we got dismissed early and were trapped in the hostel being bored and jobless.

Ivanka, thanks for the pasta and ice cream. (Yes, you're featured here again. Hahah. )

Maksim is epic.

Eccentric composers and their 'fros.

If actually feels quite good to play songs written by the composers you study about in Music class.

Enlightening, almost. It's like you finally know a little of the story behind the person behind the notes behind the song; it's not just a tune you play because your music teacher said so, it has become enriched in a way.

I pulled out my old 'A Modern Approach to Classical Guitar 3' just now. I hadn't played the pieces in there for over a year, and it surprises me to realise that most of the pieces were taken from the famous (though dead/deceased, unfortunately) composers of the Classical, Romantic and sometimes late Baroque periods.
I also surprise myself by being able to remember how to play the pieces after such a (sadly) long time.

Today, I...

- endured a most awkward Biology presentation on fertility for an hour and half and then a Bio quiz which I didn't study for.

- wrote a most useless and irrelevant paragraph on 'my bedroom' during English and expressed my contempt for it by copying the exact same format as the "incorrect" example and changing it to suit my taste.

- came up with a most cruel and tragic story line with Aisyah during Malay and wondered if two of the characters in the story really were gay.

- rushed through my Chemistry tutorial and had to trouble Zhen Jie (thanks for the help) again with my billion questions.

- struggled not to fall asleep during a documentary during Geography. It wasn't that it was boring (it was quite entertaining, honestly. Love the guy's accent), it was just that the atmosphere was so suitable for a nap. Dark, cool, guy's great accent droning away about the marvel of volcanic activity...

- sat through the Student Leader's Investiture trying to look as un-bored as possible. I think I failed. We couldn't really see much 'cause we sat at the back.

- spent Study Time laughing at things like eccentric composers' quotes (Wagner apparently told Liszt that the three greatest composers of their time was "Wagner, Liszt and Berlioz". Talk about self-esteem), Berlioz's 'fro and other things that I found amusing.

- realised that Romantic composers were each completely, utterly, awesome in their own way.

- blogged.

I finished Spirit Walker (by Michelle Paver, book two of the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness) a few days ago. It was as great and addictive as the first one. Now people call me a nerd because I read a lot and care about handing in my work on time.

I started on Fire Thief by Terry Deary (sounds familiar? He's the author of the Horrible History series). It's sarcastic, entertaining, and has footnotes like The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud which I happen to like immensely.

I need to buy more books. The sad truth is, I won't settle for library books.

I want to own them. Book collecting for the win.

Pink Panther 2.

Cluster outing was great. Though it didn't really "mengeratkan hubungan silaturrahim" or anything like that, I thought it was funny when we bagged the front row of one of the screens at Golden Village in Vivo City.

Most of us sat on the floor (don't know why, sparked by some craze of Wardah and Emily) and we laughed our way through an hour and a half of Inspector Jacques Clouseau being a total idiot.

He be funny.

I'm now blasting music into my ears so I can get rid of the Pink Panther theme that's been popping up all night.

Bio assignment update:
- Spent yesterday doing irrelevant things at the library. Ended up having cup noodles for lunch outside a 7-Eleven.
- Realised our Bio article (we focused long enough to choose one about a woman having octuplets when she already had six kids) couldn't be used 'cause it was a newspaper article. I don't know if it's true, but better be safe.
- Now working on a powerpoint presentation on how marijuana can cause infertility.

It's pretty pointless, since we all know there's this thing called "survival of the fittest".

It's most likely that if you're on drugs (medical not counted) your kids (if you had/have any) would probably grow up in a messed up household.

No offence, though.

So better not attempt to have kids unless you really, truly, honestly, earnestly believe you can go through marijuana withdrawal (which will increase your chances of having babies anyway, since marijuana causes infertility in the first place).

Yeah, I realise I don't make much sense.
But hey, that's life.

Oh, and I just remembered about our Chemistry practical report. The one where I screwed up twice.

Wish me luck.
